The sound quality is balanced and musical, it has punch and is not harsh in the highs. I have a real HiFi system in the living room and I am a sound engineer and let me tell you something, this Philips HiFi has good timing and tight bass, but It is not the loudest and the speakers feel light in weight, but overall I am very impressed. I have had the Panasonic version of this HiFi and I think this one is better in sound, design, features and build quality.
