So I have 2 GIANT Nepenthes from this company that came teeny tiny, so this idea CAN work. I wanted to try the fly traps because it had them before from other places. First one came smashed. Customer support was pretty good they got me a brand new one in about 2 weeks. However as you can see from the pictures all of the little heads are stuck to the gel. I can't imagine that this plant is going to grow in any capacity. I gave it some time before writing this review to see if somehow the heads detached themselves from the gel, but clearly they didn't. You're not supposed to open it, so I can't unstick them myself. I don't see this being a success and I'm both annoyed that I'm out the money and that it's going to die.

I was really excited to buy one of these, but was a little disappointed in the outcome. The terrarium is made of plastic and very sturdy. The price is reasonable, but mine ended up dying rather quickly, which I was really bummed about. I do love the colors, the idea, and style!

I had bought a different one (the one in a lightbulb shape with a cork on top) and my boyfriend and I loved it so much that he decided he wanted one for himself. He chose this one. Arrived in 2 day's and unfortunately was left it the mailbox in the hot sun (again) but he seems to be okay. All gel intact, green and healthy. He's laying down on the gel but so was mine when I got it, probably from being so hot. I will post pictures of both mine and his new plant. I've had mine for 2 weeks. I am obsessed with these adorable, beautiful, no care Venus fly traps!! (Mine has always had the condensation on the iside, I don't know it that's normal or not but he is growing fine lol.) Update: I ordered this on June 16th and unfortunately this one became contaminated and has molded and died completely. :( My first one in the bulb is still doing great though.

Their growing beautifully atm,have a few traps dieing...nothing major though,no signs of mold or rot of any kind,just looks happy and healthy. I have experience previously with these enclosed T.C. setups,so I'm dreading the day when I have to transplant,never seems to work out well for me or the plants,they say third time's the charm,so I hope that holds true when time comes!

My wife bought one of these for me last year. They say the plants will last 3-4 months but mine lasted over eight. It just got too big for the jar and finally died. (I suppose I could have tried to transplant it but Venus Flytraps can be difficult to maintain so I just let things run their course.) I enjoyed it so much that I ordered two more to replace the one that died. There is zero maintenance. Just set them on a shelf out of direct sunlight and enjoy! I keep mine on my desk in front of my PC monitor.

So....I never opened it....I kept it more than 6 inches from the LED Light....And it still got mold....So....Yeah....Failure Here....Im really sad cause I was getting attached to the little plant....Heres hoping I can save it....SMH....Such a Disappointment....I was so excited.... 4/22/19 Update: So they sent me a new one and this one looks much better than the previous one. In fact it actually has ROOTS. The other one didnt have any roots at all, just white stuff at the bottom. So Ill see how it does for the next 3 months and Ill update this review if it comes out ok! 6/9/19 Update: So The Second One Molded Up Too!! But This One Got Some Black Mold!! Like WTAF!? I Didnt Even Take The Plastic Wrap Off It This Time Just To Make Sure It Didnt Have Any Chance Of Getting Molded. And Instead It Gets Black Mold. And Whats Worst Is It Was Growing BEAUTIFULLY!! So I Took It Out And Tried To Clean All The Mold Off And Put It In The Soil I Got For It. And As You Can See A Good Chunk Of It Is Just Dying Now. It Was Like A Weird Ball When I Took It Out And Now Im Wondering If I Should Of Pulled The Ball Apart? I Left It In Tact Because I Didnt Want To Damage It. SMH....I Just Need A Plant WITHOUT That Stupid Gel Mess. All The Problems Seem To Be Coming From That Gel. Im Pretty Sure That Without It Causing Them To Mold, The Plants Will Grow Here Just Fine. SMH....Such A Disappointment After I Was So Happy. Imma Try Someone Else Who Sells The Plants In SOIL Rather Than This Mold Prone Gel.
