I use a Kindle Fire HD, which has at least a 720p display. I streamed 720p of True Detective onto my 52" inch plasma in my living room and the quality okay. I was hoping that it would transfer the good quality over because on my computer and Kindle the quality looks great. If you buy just keep in mind that the visual quality will be upscaled so you will see jagged areas on all edges of the video. Quality is okay though, more or less DVD quality but the sound is perfectly fine and what I expected. I can watch anything I want, just not at the quality I'm used to, which is full 1080p. If you're someone that really appreciates good quality I highly advise getting a different HDMI that doesn't upscale the visual quality. My other half found this and suggested we try it. So glad I got this! Yes it means my Kindle has to sit alongside my TV, but it means that every function on my Kindle, can now be transferred to the big screen. We watch a lot of TV and movies via our Kindles so it's a fab investment! Really quick and easy to use, just plug in and go.
