Great kit for converting your trike & bike
I bought two of these sets for use on recumbent trikes, which have the pedals out front and the drive wheel out the back. At first I was dubious about buying a Chinese motor and battery, coming from the motorcycle world, where Chinese motorbikes can be terrible. However, this system has proved it self several times over and I have come to rely upon it quite heavily, as a disabled cyclist. The unit is very easy to fit, (however, I am a qualified cycle mechanic, with a full toolset) and the tools supplied are good enough to do the job. The wiring was more difficult, due to the nature of my machine, but on a standard bicycle, fitting is even easier. I chose the heavier, bigger battery and frankly, I have barely managed to get it below 80% of its charge, even on long days. Again, as a disabled cyclist, I am not doing hundred milers anymore, but even so, I would trust this system for fifty miles or more, quite easily, even with heavy use. The system is very easy to use, but it is essential that you make sure that the unit is set to provide the power and speed limit for your country. In the UK this is 24.5KM/H. As standard, the kit came set with a max speed of 50KM/H. I chose to use the larger screen, with full utility and again, the system is simple and fairly intuitive. The screen comes with three options to choose from, but I run mine on the basic, which is very easy to use. Power delivery can be quite intense, especially if you are riding in Sport, Sport Plus or Boost mode. For this reason, it is imperative that you use the brake sensor, which cuts power to the motor while braking. Prior to fitting the correct brake lever, the pedal system would try and surge me forwards even when braking, or when moving slowly along a busy pathway. I find that the system is essential when I am tired or having a bad health day, but still want to go out. The system is activated by the pedals (although a throttle is provided, but you need to check your local laws before fitting it) and gives you the extra power. In my case, this is a 250W system. My disability means that where I used to easily produce such power, I now struggle and it is lovely to have the assistance, especially on the hills that I now struggle on. Stopping from speed does require good brakes, I run a hydraulic disk brake specific lever, that runs on mineral oil, rather than DOT, so the Bafang set up works very well with this. The down sides of a pedal assist system are small, but can be costly if ignored. I run a Shimano GRX derailleur, on an XT cassette and chain, running though 11spd bar end shifters. The pedal assist does not recognise gear shifting, so it can mash your gears quite badly if you are not careful. This has bent my derailleur hanger a couple of times and I have now fitted an electronic switch that acts like a clutch that cuts the power when I am changing gear. I have also had to change my rear hub and I am now using a Hope e-Bike hub with a steel freehub body. It was an expensive upgrade, but it was worth it after my standard ICE wheel was brutalised by poor gear shifting on my part while I got used to the system. Over all, I could not be happier with this system. It allows me to go out on family rides with my grown up kids and keep up with them, when they sprint off, at least up to 24.5KM/H! If you have the power to go faster in your legs, the system is very easy to pedal, with very little resistance. I need to be going down hill, with a strong tail wind before I can out perform the Bafang though. For a disabled cyclist, this system is both cheap and easy to fit, especially when compared to the specialist e-Bikes that house Bosch or Shimano mid drive systems. This system gave me a budget e-Trike, for less than half of the cost of a fully integrated ICE with built in Shimano pedal assist. Final tip, I use Crank Brothers Candy pedals on this system and they work very, very well with e-Assist.

It's brilliant.
This is brilliant. With not being able to drive for a year I can now cycle to the gym without exhausting myself.

Good value, there are things to consider before buying
Good set, instructions on on how to assembly it could be better. Anyone that use bike more for commute than leisure should consider buying it. Few notes - bike lights wiring is not obvious. Red lights goes to front and white to back, should be other way around. Consider buying smaller sprocket. I went with 42t and sometimes it doesn't have enough torque to push it. Hydraulic brake sensors might hard to mount on some bikes. I found some 3d print files on printables that might fix the issue. Going to test it soon.

Befang motor
I found installment easy if you use YouTube for reference. Product seller and speed of delivery to Scotland so far impressive. Used Befang for 6 years commuting and mountain biking with a smile almost guaranteed.

In der Variante 250W habe ich mein über 20 Jahre altes Fahrrad umgerüstet. So 3-4 Stunden muss man dafür einplanen.
