Color Is Just What I Wanted!
I use the Blue Lagoon all season. 9x18', 14,000 gallon above ground pool. Has made our pool water a deep blue or can add less colorant for just a hint of blue. The color lasts about four days, before I add it again. Our city water at times, can be a little rusty, so this is perfect for us. It does leave a stain on the waters edge sometimes, but comes out if you use Mr. Clean Eraser. I use it in our waterfall fountain and our small shell type fountain. It does not stain the cement, on the smaller one, but does stain the fiberglass waterfall, which did not bother us at all. I used small blue glass pebbles to decorate the tiers. At end of season, we cleaned waterfall fountain good with a brush and bleach water. When we took tarp off this spring, it was the original white color. Fiberglass rocks, stones and 2 tiers. It's beautiful with the Blue Lagoon. Also, I wear disposable plastic gloves when I put the color in, and double bag the container in Zip Lock Bags, until next use.

Love this blue !
I choose an aqua color pebble tech for the granite in my pool and blue tiles at top under stones it’s nice I love my pool it’s just the contrast of the tile and granite aqua is off to me it’s always looking a lil green/ blue but it’s perfectly balanced :/ it’s that one thing that I regretted i don’t know why they make a green blue I was thinking it’d be more blue really who wants a green pool ? Well it’s a fortune to do over or paint i don’t know if It’s possible to change the color with paint .. so this blue is amazing I used a whole bottle for 36k gallons and lasted until I added ph down it needed so that’s a way to lighten it up apparently . Next time i’m going to start With 1/2 bottle And see how it looks but either way it’s amazing and made me very happy after 12 years regretting that granite choice it’s so nice to swim in blue blue water ! Thank you !

I’m impressed. I had high hopes and I’m not disappointed.
I have an older pool and the liner has faded which led to a green looking water color. I decided to try this dye based on reviews, which were good. This stuff works. I probably added too much and got a really deep blue pool at first. But after it mixed in and faded slightly over time it turned a nice shade of blue. The picture is after a week in the pool. Does not stain clothes if you get in the water. Did not stain the plastic stairs either. It does settle to the bottom when the pump is off, but remixes quickly when back on. Better than buying a new liner! I’d give five stars. Update: still happy with the dye. I just wanted to add that you might try half the recommended amount and check results before adding more. Unless you want your pool a really deep unnatural blue, start with less. That has worked well for me after initial application.

Does NOT Stain
The recommended "dosage" for this stuff is 1 oz per 5000 gallons. Or for a 20,000 gallon pool (which is pretty big) that's only half a bottle. From reading the reviews from people complaining it stained, in several of them they mentioned how much they put in, and it was way too much. At the recommended dosage it is not going to turn the pool super duper blue, but will give it a very nice and very noticeable blue tint. To test it, I threw an old white cotton T-shirt into the pool for 5 hours. It did NOT stain, and if anything is gonna stain, it's white cotton. Nor did it stain the crappy old concrete of our pool (I was actually a bit disappointed at that). It did turn the cartridge filter dark blue, but it all washed out/off easily, with no permanent stain. Nor did it permanently stain the sidewalk where I washed the filter. So finally, I took some into school and let the high school chemistry students analyze it. It's not even a proper 'dye', it's a super fine colloidal powder with a specific gravity nearly equal to water. (That's why the chlorine does not affect it and why it all ended up in the filter.) So anything that gets "stained" by it should easily wash off. We used it at a recent party because of that crappy old concrete in the pool and it was beautiful! And no-one had their swim suit stained. Tip: If you want it to last a bit longer, once it is fully dispersed turn off your pump & filter if feasible. Do not use any clarifier or flocculent.

Pretty color. Doesn’t last long.
Love the color that it makes the pool. Doesn’t last very long…maybe 2-3 days as it filters out. It is good to use for a backyard get together. Doesn’t take much to get the pretty blue color. I have used 1 bottle to color the pool about 6 times. 3 bottles come together so it should last all summer.

Awful, STAY AWAY!
This product is absolutely horrible. Doesn’t work at all and I followed the directions to a T. First of all, I bought it in June of 2025 for a party in late July. When I took the product out, I saw an expiration date of May 2025, I was past the refund date and the party was the next day so I gave it a try. The product doesn’t work and ruined my pool tiles. It was red and I used 3.6 ounces mixed thoroughly in 2 gallons of water for an 18,000 gallon pool. Pour it by the return jets, ok! I did exactly that. After 45 minutes, I had purple water, NOT RED! I heeded all the warnings not to put any more as it could stain your pool wall. Well guess what, there is now Red on my pool tiles that doesn’t come off, even with a pressure cleaner, no red water and (what appears to be permanent) damage to my pool tiles. This was absolutely awful and ruined my party! Hopefully somebody from this company reads this and can tell me what chemical will get this garbage off.

Will clog filters but looks great
Be careful because it will clog your filters. We have been rinsing blue stuff off our files for weeks now. Looks great tough for a party
