Blue Buffalo Sizzlers Bacon-Style Dog Treats with Real USA Pork, Original Flavor, 28-oz Bag

The treat looks and smells good, and our finicky Miniature Schnauzer loves it. I gave an average rating to the flavor because I have no idea as to how it tastes: our Schnauzer does, however, and he loves it. As to value for the price, I gave that criterion a 3-star rating also because this item is expensive for the quantity provided, but it does appear to be tasty. My main reason for writing this review is to comment on Amazon’s packaging of both the treat bag and the box in which it came. The middle main strip of sealing tape, down the middle of the box, was completely unattached when the box arrived: it looked as if someone had started to open the box. The ends of that tape, however, were still attached. When I opened the box, I saw that the bag of the abovementioned treats was open, and several pieces were spread throughout the box. I tried online to get a replacement, but Amazon told me a replacement was not allowed/possible for this item. I called one of their at least 2 customer service numbers, told them what had happened, and requested either a replacement or a full refund. Initially, Cadigio (the lady who came on the line) told me that only a partial refund was available; I rejected that, insisting on a full refund - the product is completely useless, so why should I get only a partial refund? Cadigio then changed her information: I will get a complete refund in a few business days. I provide these details to make readers/fellow customers aware that you may have a fight on your hands with Amazon. The treat is very good; Amazon’s packaging - uncharacteristically weak this time.

This is the only treat my dog can eat without it upsetting her tummy. They are great and I always keep them on hand for her.

I was so happy to find a healthier heartier replacement for the classic beggin strips and thought for sure, like so many Blue Buffalo products, these Sizzlers Bacon Treats would be a huge hit with my 85 pound pittie. I was unfortunately wrong. While he isn't typically one to completely turn down a treat, he does let you know that the treat is "less than" appreciated or not nearly as appropriate for his good boyness as it should have been. He is very sassy. He definitely prefers Beggin Strips and Pupperoni. They stay fresh and soft for a long time. They are easy to break apart with your hands, but he chews them more than other bacon style treats. It seems they are very chewy as it takes him awhile (a good 30 seconds longer) to eat a piece of these treats than it does other treats of similar composition. I love the ingredients. I love the brand. I'm impressed by the freshness and quality. He seems to say the taste is just not up to par though.
