As a very fair skinned, strawberry blonde, have tried dozens of brow solutions to make my "white" eyebrows visible without being heavy, too dark, artificial-looking, fuller, etc. This Brow pencil is perfect. It is a bit more golden-toned, and the pigment is truly fair enough that application doesn't look fake or weird. It is a pretty dry pencil, but, for very fair complexions, that is necessary for even application that won't be too heavy or look cakey and fake. It is smudge proof and this means I can also use brow gel after brow pencil application, and the gel application does not remove or lighten the brow color. I have complete control over where the color is deposited as well as now heavy the application is, and it is a perfect color for my fair, warm tone skin and red-blonde hair. It's also an excellent value and has a sharpener that comes with it.

I'm almost emotional about this little brow pencil. I used to have very light but used to be beautiful eyebrows, a few years ago I was hit in the head with a hockey stick, had a lot of stitches around left eyebrow area, since it healed there is a slight dent through my eyebrow where hair doesn't grow and the bone is just slightly wonky there so always bothered me to look in the mirror even though everyone said it's nothing. Everything I used was too dark or wouldn't stay in place then I found these very light pencils,, read the reviews they were pretty good so I got them and used them and I swear you can not tell that little space is filled in with a pencil at all, totally fixed that slight gash where there was no hair, so the shape is back to my brows and it doesn't hurt to look in the mirror. Stays all day, doesn't rub off or wear off til I wash my face. I'm very happy with this, though most people don't have the problems I did, I can tell you this is a very easy to use hard pencil that stays where you put it, the color is soft, not too dark and not too red. I would recommend it to anyone who is fair with light brows.

The color is perfect and hides my "Too Dark Won't Fade" tattoos from over two years ago but the crayon is just hard as a rock and won't soften enough to actually apply. I read other reviews saying this but it's sadly true. So, I keep looking for the same Covergirl shade in a different form. Have tried so many other "blond" by other brands and none are light enough to cover the dark tats.

Inaccurate color : soft brown is a very light blonde shade and there is a shimmer. Compare yo Maybelline brow in shade blonde. It's lighter than that. The pencil was extremely hard and color would not lay down. It was dry and hard. Probably old stock. Felt like a pencil lead , scratched my hand when trying to swatch. The hard part would not sharpen off to reveal anything fresh or soft.

These brow pencils work well and I have been using them for years. I like that Cover Girl has colors that work well for those of us without either blonde, brown, or black hair. Mine is a lighter brown sometimes called "dishwater blond" and this works well. The little pencil sharpener is functional and doesn't take up much space.

This does not make a mark on perfectly clean, dry skin. Very disappointed as it was very expensive.
