My Favorite Little E-Reader — Cute, Powerful, and So Addictive
I absolutely love my BOOX Palma. It’s honestly so cute and perfectly sized that I can’t seem to put it down. The 6.13" HD Carta screen is super crisp and easy on the eyes, and the flat glass screen with front lighting (both warm and cool) makes it comfortable to read anytime, day or night. The auto-rotation and light sensor are such nice touches and work seamlessly. Performance-wise, this thing is impressive. The octa-core processor with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage makes everything feel smooth and fast—no lag when switching apps or reading. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity are solid, and the battery life has been great for my daily use. Overall, it feels like the perfect balance between an e-reader and a smart device. Compact, powerful, and genuinely fun to use. I reach for it constantly and highly recommend it if you want something portable but packed with features.

Amazing
Amazing! I have owned a kindle for the past 10 years or so and I finally decided to give the boox a try and I am so glad that I made the switch. This device is so versatile, and I love that I am able to read my kindle books as well as my Libby, Audible, Kobo and fanfics all on one device. No more having to switch between my phone and my Kindle because I can do everything on this one device. My last kindle was the kindle oasis, and I have noticed that the boox Palma two is a lot faster and lags a lot less. It’s not quite as fast as a regular cell phone, but it is way better than my previous Kindle device. The cost is a little bit high, but if you have been debating on making the switch from a kindle to this device, I would highly recommend that you at least give it a try. I don’t think that I will ever go back to a kindle because this one is just so much more convenient. It is the perfect size and is travel friendly, it’s small, lightweight & the build quality is sleek and so cute. it is also pretty easy to use once you mess around with it a little bit… I was able to figure it out pretty quickly after watching a few videos. If you’re unsure of settings, I would watch a few tutorials first. I do recommend changing some of the refresh rate settings to lower the ghosting. Once I changed my settings, I have not noticed any ghosting at all, unless I’m in dark mode (which is very rare) You can also turn the volume buttons on the side to page turning buttons while you read. All around 5 stars. Another plus for me is that once you enable assistive reading, it will read your books to you. My kindle could do this as well, but it would not read any PDFs that I emailed to myself or any ARC copies I received, it would only read my books to me if it came directly from the Kindle store. This device will read them to me whether they’re in my Kindle library or my Books library as a PDF. I honestly could go on & on about the plus’s of this device and I don’t regret buying it for a second. The ONLY negative for me was the price, but I would buy it again with how much I love it.

Expensive But Worth It
First off, I purchased this with my own money so this review is my honest opinion 😘 Pricey, but worth the splurge. I've had this for a few weeks now and what I can say is this: I use it everyday, all day. True, you can just keep using your kindle if you have one (which I do), however-- there are many reasons for me and others as to why I've searched for a kindle alternative. While I still use the kindle app on my Boox Palma, I love that I can read manga/webtoons/manhwa/alternative reading platforms. My reading isnt limited to kindle alone, and that's a huge benefit for me. Additionally, customization. I love that I can outwardly customize my Boox Palma as well as internally. This is not the case with kindle unless you pay over $20 to prevent ads showcasing on the escreen-- something that has caused quite a few dramatic and embarrassing moments for me 😤 and never appreciated. Likewise, I've already noticed the updated policies from kindle taking books off of my kindle-- not cool. So, again, Boox Palma has been a great alternative. Yes, I understand that there is also kobo and many people enjoy that as well, however, again, you can also have kobo on your boox palma! One more thing to note is that the Boox Palma is WAY more travel friendly. I have 2 young children and have moved on from shoulder bags to mini backpacks, and let me just say-- the boox palma fits so easily, but my kindle causes some issues. Having to choose between the 2? 100% I'm taking my boox palma. On top of that, the boox palma fits way better in my hands (first world problems, I know). The kindle tends to cramp my hands up and idk, with the twisting and turning while reading.. I prefer the boox palma. The button option to turn pages is so convenient too, as well as the fingerprint reader. Minor inconveniences-- while I have so much that I enjoy about the Boox Palma, I will also add that there are some (potential) drawbacks depending on person to person. For example: 1. Battery life- the battery life can EASILY drain if you keep it connected to Bluetooth, wifi, and heavy app use. Turning off wifi and Bluetooth easily allows battery life to last (from my heavy consistent use) 8 days before needing a recharge. For others it can be longer or shorter, just depends on the person. 2. Dark Mode-- I have to read in dark mode, especially at night. My eyes do not so well with warm light or bright white light at all. I get migraines really bad and to be honest, my kindle was perfect for that, especially night reading. I will honestly choose the kindle or at home night reading over the boox palma. 3. Learning curve. There is a bit of a learning curve to the boox palma, but tbh that's because of the ability to customize to your liking as well as adding apps to enhance the reading experience. Finding out how to navigate takes a little time, but if you love tinkering there's really no issue after a few minutes on google/YouTube/reddit/tiktok searches. 4. Refresh rates can be an issue-- BUT only IF you absolutely refuse to tinker with your device. Again, after a few minutes of changing settings to my own liking in each app either for webtoons, epubs, pdfs, or kindle~ it runs very smoothly. The processing time (at least for me) is a lot quicker than my kindle which was so frustrating I always end up purchasing my books on my phone and then downloading on kindle. Overall, this is a great addition to my everyday life as well as school for textbook notes and reading. Worth the purchase if you can splurge. The quality of the build is also premium 👌 10/10

Save your money, didn’t last longer than 6 months.
Save your money . Was 6 months before it just died on me . If I knew the xteink x4 was coming out in December, I definitely would’ve waited for it instead . Quite disappointed. Otherwise good device, but it’s a shame it stopped working so soon. For $300+ I would expect better longevity than SIX MONTHS.

Perfect Small E-ink Reader
I'm in love with my new Boox Palma 2. I've been a Kindle reader since the first version came out. I actually had an ereader that downloaded books using a dail up phone line. I upgraded to a Scribe this year and love it, but I wanted a smaller reader to carry with me as the scribe is just too big. I decided on the Palma after careful review of all brands in the small size range and I've not been disappointed. I absolutely love it. I love the fact that it is an open android system and has numerous ways to customize it. That being said, people that are used to the simple kindle system may find themselves overwhelmed with the options and set up of the Palma. You shouldn't be thought. Take some time to search YouTube videos and you will be all set. My only grip is the fingerprint scanner is a little wonky. Also, there are not many cover option out there, I have a few now and the Tudia is my favorite. It's lightweight, clear backed and the front cover is magnetic so it stays closed and wake/sleep option works well.

Customizable, Perfect Fit in Hand, Sleek
I’d been researching e-readers for weeks trying to figure out which one would be a good fit for me. I was instantly attracted to the Palma since it’s phone sized & I mostly read ebooks on my phone. I’m so happy I went with it. I decided to totally deck it out since it was such a big expense & im hoping it will last me in the years to come. I did add the protection since I wanted to heed the many warnings of how fragile e-ink screens can be. If I carry it out of the house I have a small bag which it fits perfectly in & make sure it’s all by itself. It looks a little funny with the front light on but it’s undeniably perfect in direct light. I also got a matte screen protector to help with scratches & glare. It is a bit pricey & i wish this could be curbed by taking away the camera feature. All in all, I’m happy with it & with the ability to not be locked into a book eco-system. My last favorite thing is that I can change the wallpapers.

Great gift for digital readers
Great gift for someone that loves to read! They carry it everywhere. It’s small and not too slow. It does lag a little bit but it’s for reading so not super important and the person I got it for said they don’t mind at all.

LOVE!
I love my Boox Palma!! Its a good phone size e reader. You can use it for just about anything.... meaning you're not just stuck to reading off the Kindle app. It has the Google play store so you can download pretty much any app. I am obsessed with it. Easy to carry along with you anywhere since it's phone sized. It is a bit pricey, but I think it's worth it if you like to read on the go and want to carry something smaller than a Kindle.
