A: I have the lock pictured and it does not require batteries.

**Q: Why does it need batteries and does it lock inside the bathroom also can it be opened from outside?**
A: No batteries needed. It has a manual lock on one side (picture) and a small hole to unlock from the other side.

**Q: Does it come with keys for the lock?**

I purchased the "Entry" version, and it does not have a (Push button) locking mechanism as advertised.In reality, the inside portion has a standard center turn-dial type mechanism, the outside portion is keyed.
