After using 3 of these units for a couple of weeks, I question the short glib comments in many of reviews here and the glowing reviews on You-Tube from people who "got this product to test." Let's look at some of the real issues many of which I have been on the phone with Fluke tech support about: 1, There is no manual to this unit, not even a simple overview of what the buttons and screen icons actually mean. To be clear, there is a wordless pictogram that comes in the box, but with an engineering degree and after using these for a couple of weeks, I think one of the diagrams may be about the backlight turning off after a certain amount of time. Maybe??? In short, I found this pictogram useless. 2. The three phase mode actually has no particular function. I have named my units, but other than hooking them in the order that matches the phases there appears no way to assign order. Without instructions, this has been a crapshoot. Additionally, the 3-phase mode does nothing related to showing the phases overlayed on a single graph or data set Apparently Fluke does not want to erode their power logger market. 3. The Bluetooth connects are slow and not dependable. I use an I-phone 7 and even with a clear line of sight 3' apart sometimes all the units are found promptly and sometimes one or two of them will seem lost in space or come and go. Fluke has no answer to this issue except to blame Bluetooth. This gets very messy when you have 3 units and they are found and lost repeatedly. 4. The data transfer seems to be all or nothing. With a good connection, it takes 10 to 15 minutes to download a large data file to your phone, but if anything happens (e.g., the data transfer stalls for some unknown reason) you have to start all over again. One good thing here - the device does hold a lot of data points! NOTE: Data transfer is one unit at a time, so you may spend about an hour doing this with 3 units and lots of data points. 5. The "free" Fluke Connect is very limited and makes it hard to manage just a handful of data files. Yes, it appears they are trying to force you into buying one of the monthly fee-based plans. I have no idea why you would need to pay a fee, just to give a data file a NAME?? (or in Fluke's case "assign it to an asset group"). The way I have worked around this is simply to email the files to myself and put the test location, etc. in the email Subject line. The "Notes" section is also useful in keeping track of information, but, how about just being able to give the file a name?? 6. One other issue I noticed is the button that has waves above the "F" has a tendency to stick under the housing case at the top of the button. You just need to keep an eye out for this. I also do not know what this button actually does, since the units seem to show up on my phone whether I push this button or not. 7. A couple of positive notes, the battery life is pretty good on these units for something that is recording continuously for hours or even days and I think you can change the batteries in the unit without loosing your data.
