You can feel the knife drag over the diamonds and when you wipe the knife there is a lot of steel dust on the cloth. I have a varied collection of mid price knives (kitchen devil, sabatier and Ikea) and they sharpened up quickly (my last steel had gone blunt after 25 years!).
