    Solid construction and works even when occluded

It's an AI transmitter, what can be said? It transmits pressure and it works. Make sure you get the appropriate color if you are planning to use more than 1 at the same time, and remember that Shearwater recalled the yellow transmitters due to potential frequency overlaps with other colors. I don't remember what color this one is and don't want to take it off my first stage, but I don't think it is yellow.The manual says you have to mount it on your first stage on the same side you wear your computer - I personally wear my Teric on my left wrist and have the transmitter on the right, because I dive with a backup SPG and with the port configuration on my first stage (Scubapro Mk11) you can't really put them both on the left. It works fine on the right (with my head between the transmitter and the Teric) and I haven't had any drops. Be advised that if you dive a compact first stage like the Mk11 and you use hose protectors, the transmitter will likely push against the protector. This isn't a big deal for me personally since my protectors are soft and have enough give to allow the transmitter body to bite into them a bit without putting excessive stress on the hose, but if you are paranoid about that stuff you may want to put some additional thought into where you're going to put the transmitter and whether or not you plan to use protectors. See picture.Overall quite satisfied.

    Very Reliable Transmitter

The Shearwater transmitter is actually made by Pelagic and has been around for a long time and been very reliable.They have been used by Aeris and Oceanic and some other manufacturers for a long time.The Shearwater version comes in a good quality zippered case and with a carabineer so that you can mount it to your gear bag.I normally leave mine mounted on my Atomic Aquatics regulator.
