I''m an older guy, with low vision, and I've read that deeper blacks make reading text easier. But most very high contrast monitors are top price, some more than $1,000. Searched for high contrast 27 inch FHD monitors from top brands, this one, with a 3,000 to 1 contrast ratio looked like the best deal. Mine, like new, from Amazon Resale, was about 40 percent.off. Bought two, one is used Landscape orientation, the other Portrait set an a lower than FHD resolution. For seconday brands some are under $90.
