Seagate 2TB Portable Hard Drive | USB 3.0 (STGX2000400)

I'm really happy with this Seagate 2TB portable hard drive. It gives me plenty of extra storage for my files and is compact enough to take with me when needed. Setup was simple, and transferring files was easy. I like having a portable backup option without taking up much space. Overall, it's been a great addition for extra storage, and I would definitely buy it again.

What will make my comment different from others here is that I am a senior citizen (in my 70's) and I am using an external hard drive for the first time. When people try to explain computer things to me, I feel like they are in the Space Age and I am in the Stone Age! I needed the drive to back up and save the numerous large files on my computer. I am elderly and not very "tech" oriented. If you are like me, or you know someone who is, this is the drive to look at. The makers were not kidding when they called it "plug and play" it is literally that easy. You plug the included cord into the hard drive, and plug in the other end to the USB port on your computer. The screen for the hard drive appears immediately. You do not need to download or adjust anything. Then you just copy and paste your files into the hard drive. And it's just that easy. After you are finished, you go down to the "show hidden icons" on the bottom right hand of your computer and click on the eject hard drive, in order to safely detach the hard drive. The hard drive seems well made, very compact, easy to use and store. If you are a senior citizen, there is nothing here to confuse you or make it hard to use. I have had it only a few days, but I have already stored hundreds of files: videos, documents, music, audio books, all kinds of things. When I decided to get an external hard drive, I was uncertain about it. At my age things need to be easy to use, and this drive is. It is no more difficult to use then a storage disc or USB stick. It also comes in a variety of storage sizes. I am very satisfied with this and would definitely buy it again.

I bought this Seagate 2TB portable hard drive to back up my videos for the in laws. Setup couldn't have been easier—literally just plug it in and you are ready to start transferring. Uploads and file transfers are fast and smooth with no drops or connection issues. It feels solid and reliable, giving me total peace of mind that the media are safely stored. Great value for the storage space and plug-and-play simplicity. Highly recommend!

Great storage for musicians and recording projects As a musician, I bought this to store and back up my recordings and music projects, and it has been great for that. It’s easy to use, has plenty of storage space, and makes it convenient to keep recordings and other large music files in one place. I also like having a separate drive for my recordings instead of relying entirely on my computer’s internal storage. Seagate is a brand I’ve trusted for storage, which gives me added confidence when using it for important files. Overall, this has been a great, simple storage solution for my music and recording needs. If you’re a musician or anyone who works with large files, I would definitely recommend it.

I purchased the Seagate 2TB Portable Hard Drive primarily for extra storage and backups and I've been very happy with it. The 2TB capacity provides plenty of room for photos, videos, documents, and other large files without having to constantly worry about running out of space. The setup was quick and straightforward. I connected it to my computer, and it was recognized without any major issues. Transferring and organizing files has been easy, and the portable size is a big plus. It's compact enough to keep in a laptop bag or desk drawer, making it convenient if you need to move files between locations. Overall, this is a good option if you need a lot of storage at a reasonable price and don't necessarily need the fastest possible transfer speeds.

The online tech support by Seagate leaves a LOT to be desired as the problem was, I could see the device in the printers, scanners and other devices on my computer, but it would not show up in File Manager where I should have been able to "drag and drop" stuff into/onto that drive. I did EVERYTHING I could think of - I tried it on my desktop, then my laptop, turned the computers on and off, unplugged the drive and nothing worked. I went to Seagate's online support and one of their videos stated, "try another cable - sometimes cables go bad." Uh, DUH, this portable drive has a very unique and proprietary type of cable! It's not like one end is a regular USB plug and the other side is a USB-C plug! It's sort of like a double USB-B or micro-USB plug, but two of them put together and one side is smaller than the other side, so, "try a different cable?" Puh-leaze! However, I requested a return of that original and asked for another of the same hard drive be sent. Got it today and IT WORKS PERFECTLY!!! Yes! I plugged it in and BOOM! There it was in File Manager. Checked the properties and it has the space I expected it to have. Then I did a drag and drop of an MP3 file just to see if there would be any problems and the file copied over to the new hard drive without issue. THIS is what I wanted and am happy to have - a great little external hard drive that works just as it should at an excellent price.

I bought this Seagate Portable 2TB USB external hard drive in January 2023, and I’m still using it years later. It’s relatively inexpensive for the capacity, and I’ve always found Seagate reliable. I’m happy with it. I knew going in that I was buying a mechanical hard drive, not an SSD. The listing is the everyday plug-and-play USB 3.0 portable HDD for Windows/Mac backup and file storage. It can be a little slow sometimes — it is what it is with a spinning disk. That tradeoff was expected, so I don’t ding it for being an HDD. Five stars for the storage, the price, and long-term reliability that matched what I paid for.

Very happy with this purchased. The product itself was packaged very well and was protected very well.Ordered on the 15th July and was told it will arrive on the 29th but arrived 8 days earlier. The transfer speed is amazing. Now my phone and tablet has all it's memory back and I don't have to waste time looking for files to delete to create more space on them.

Aynı modelin backup plus slim olanı vardı. Kasasının üstü metal altı plastikti. Bunun ise yekpare plastik. Kaliteli hissettirmiyor ama elinizde dolaşan bir ürün de değil zaten. Bellikte Seagate kalitesini tartışmaya bile gerek yok. 2 TB alın kafanız rahat etsin.

Excelente produto, bem embalado, produto original

I'm using Linux Mint. Plugged in drive, it was recognised immediately by the PC, copied over the files I needed to have a copy of, was fast, about 200MB/s, fast enough for me anyway. I checked the copied files, yes I could open them and use them. All GOOD. I recommend this Seagate 2TB portable drive, usb 3.0. Out of interest, I have an ancient 2TB Seagate backup drive, which uses power from the mains, the power cable has the same fitment, it still works, it must be about 10-15 years old. It's much larger than this drive, about the size of the packaging this new drive came in. This new drive is about the size of a pack of cigarettes, but half as slim. I dug it out of a box some time ago and was surprised to see it still worked and still had accessible data. So Seagate must be good.

Good product .. satisfied customer.
