This product only dims the light whereas WhiteDims both Soften and dim creating a truly flattering effect. LightDims and WhiteDims are very effective at what they do. Lastly are they fireproof? Absolutely not and should never be used on Halogen bulbs, incandescent bulbs and any bulb that gets over 200 degrees F. With that said Our products are extremely heat and cold resistant. Our proprietary formulas for our materials are used in all sorts of applications including military and industrial contracts in very harsh environments. So what should you do? Check with the manufacturer of your light and have them point you to documentation that the bulbs don't get over 200 degrees F. Or get a Non-contact Digital Laser Infrared Thermometer Temperature Gun which only costs about 15 bucks then aim it at the bare bulb when its been on for an hour on a hot day and if the temperature reads over 200 degrees F don't use our products directly on the bulb. Do LED bulbs generally get over 200 degrees F? No some of the hottest LED lights are still well below 200 F but manufacturers have been making them hotter and hotter over the years pushing more power through them and intern creating more heat. But good news, you don't have to place WhiteDims or LightDims directly on the bulb itself, you can apply LightDims and white dims to the inside or outside of the cover of the light which is a much cooler surface and in many cases is more aesthetically pleasing. One final comment, sometimes we have gotten comments and bad reviews because people have not found that White Dims and LightDims , dim enough, but we did that on purpose!!!!!!!!! so you can create the exact amount of dimming you want by simply layering also known as stacking the sheets on top of each other. Our down lights in our media wall were just too bright making our lounge look like a showroom!! After adding the dim-lights to each of the lights our media wall now looks amazing. As stated if spotlights are concave the sticker will have a crease forced into it when applied. It doesn’t particularly notice so I’m happy. The spots have been dimmed now thankfully and I’m happy!
