The first sales guy sold me the wrong overflow. I have gone through 3 overflows before getting this one. It comes with an air pump that keeps the siphon action going. Screws on either end adjusts how deep the overflow sits in the water so you can gage your sump levels. I would definitely recommend this product. ### ⭐⭐ Poor Design *by S***T on Reviewed in the United States on January 11, 2013* I didn't like this box. It is to loud. An aqua lifter is required (and comes with it) but other models do not require one. The bulkheads were not threaded to connect with other plumbing so they had to be permenatly glued. I am not currently using it do to the amount of noise. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Will do the job, but noisy with high flow *by J***E on Reviewed in the United States on September 2, 2015* I have had this exact overflow for ten years on a 75 gallon saltwater tank. This overflow has good and bad. If you are just starting into the aquarium hobby, definitely buy a built in overflow inside the aquarium. They come this way already made, and will make your life so much easier. However, if you already have the aquarium, and you don't drill glass, this is the next best thing. Pros: it has lots of water flow, also, you can adjust it up and down to how much water you want in the tank. Cons: very noisy! If you don't get the air tube vents just right, it gurgles. The waterfall sound in the overflow box is noisy with high flow. Low flow is much quieter. (But high flow is probably why you are getting this particular overflow) The outlet flexible hoses sound like continual running water. If you know how to plumb with pvc pipe, then it would possibly be quieter. It draws in lots of bubbles from the water surface, so you need to have the aqualifter pump. You can also place a long air tube to the sump and create a siphon, but if you turn the power off, the siphon breaks. If your aqualifter (cheap little pumps) stops working your siphon breaks. If your tubing falls off the aqualifter or off of the top of the overflow, then your siphon breaks. (Secure it with a plastic zip tie) A breaking siphon stops all water flow from the tank to the sump. Most of your water from the sump will then be pumped into the tank and could cause a massive overflow. (Test this out before you go anywhere). Also, your pumps will not have water and will start to suck in air. I'm pretty sure that will damage the pumps if it is for an extended time. So good luck if you choose this route. However, if you really want one of those gorgeous reef tanks, this is not the way to start.
