is this one backward compatible?

Count the USBs in the front. Fat and 4 is backwards compatible. I have a 20Gb original that the HDMI went out on last year. The 20Gb hard drive went out 2 months in to 2007. I have replace that twice and it is now 320. I replace the 2nd one just because I had a bigger one. I use it upstairs for now and I am looking for just a regular PS3 to have a good blu-ray and play some of the last PS3 games.

what is ofw? regardless, don't buy it, the 1st generation ps3 tend to break a lot and it is bulky and heavy. Suggest you buy SLIM or SUPERSLIM models. Go to amazon.com or craiglist to find used slim or superslim for around $100.
