Coghlan's - Bear bell black

I bought this bell a while ago now but because it was so loud and the dog it was intended for, didn't like it, it sat in the boot of my car for ages. We have since added a third dog to our household. All 3 are Whippets and he has a strong prey drive. After he disappeared after a herd of deer and came back with a nasty injury I decided to try him with this bell. I can now walk my dogs in the forest and know that the deer can hear him coming long before he knows they are there, and they get out of his way, plus it allows him to run off the lead. it's a brilliant product because the less wildlife he has a chance to chase, the less likely he is to get injured and its kinder for the wildlife too. After having quite a few bad experiences with deer and another Whippet getting badly injured and needing surgery a few months ago, I feel more confident taking my dogs to the local forest. Would highly recommend to anyone who has a dog with a high prey drive

These bells are great. Vacro strap to fix to collar, net bag attached with magnet in seam to put over bell when not in use, great idea. Warns animals of your dog's presence, can hear her in wooded areas now the days are getting lighter and not wearing lit collars so much. Great buy, very sturdy. Also good for anyone with visual impairment, hence 5 stars.

This is a bear bell. Yes there are no bears in the UK. I clip this to my dogs collar so he jingles as he runs. This gives the local deer population enough warning to scarper before he arrives. It has a muffler - comprising of a magnet in a gauze sack. The magnet causes the clapper inside to stick to the bell. Cheap - effective and comes with an off switch.

Good, loud bell, although I can't see how you would hear it 1.5kms away, if that's how it is still advertised! My dog is quite big and I attach it to her harness when we go out. I didn't think I'd use the magnet bit, but I do! The Velcro fastening is also sturdy and secure!

I bought this to hang on my dog's collar - so I'd know where he was when I couldn't see him. He was going through a phase of disappearing into the woods and wasn't coming back when I called him. For some reason, I didn't realise the bell is so big. Too big to hang on a Jack Russell. So, instead of hanging it on him, I attached it to me, so he knows where I am - for when he decided to come back. He's grown out of the not coming back phase, and I am now happy for him to go in the woods. When I am ready to move on and want him to follow me, I ring the bell and he comes running. Both of my dogs and my mother's dog have now learnt to follow the bell.

Fantastic product. Great for keeping track of my dog when we're in the woods and having the magnet to silence the bell when in the car is a brilliant design feature. Thoroughly recommend this product

I use this to warn people who are on phones or just not looking of me and my dog running towards them its very loud so only use it in the uk in the evenings as some people do get annoyed but id recommended them to every dog owner as they are useful in town and country

Great idea, however, the first time I attached it tightly to the dog, it fell off somewhere in the woods :( Velcro is not the best way to attached this product.

This bell should work well while hiking. Seems well made & light weight. Magnetic & the little carrying bag is well made. Hopefully it keeps the bears away!
