JBL Xtreme 2, Waterproof Portable Bluetooth Speaker, Blue

This is a great speaker, I have used it every day since purchasing! The sound quality is pretty crisp with good bass. It can get really loud without diminishing the quality of what you are listening to. The battery life is great it will last you around 12 hours. The attachable strap is very helpful if you are bringing the speaker out and about with you. If you are looking for a daily portable speaker that can move around with you and has good sound and battery life this is the speaker for you!

I had been using an old Dewalt worksite speaker for a number of things for years. It served it's purpose but was rather cumbersome for the nature of what I used it for so I was in the market for a nice rechargeable bluetooth speaker. Well my son has a smaller JBL bluetooth speaker that he has been very happy with bit I needed a louder one for my purposes. One of which is for a planning committee for a retreat where we use a lot of music that has to be listened to and voted in. It was kind of a hassle to lug the Dewalt along with the tote and other stuff I had to take then find a spot to plug the Dewalt in. This Speaker has made that process so much easier. I use the strap and carry I like a purse, freeing my hands up to carry the other stuff, saving me a trip from my car to our meeting spot! Also, I no longer have to use the cord from my phone for the sound! Also, we watch a lot of movies in the yard on a projector that had the 3mm jack and Bluetooth. Now I just use the bluetooth with this handy speaker. I was also able to take this speaker out on a pontoon where we all like to jump off into the river and swim. This thing had zero issue with water occasionally dripping off of us and it took up little space on the pontoon and made our trip so much more fun with music! It holds a charge for a long time, even turned all the way up! I have not used it in durations as to completely sap the battery but I can say that one weekend, I used it for 2 hours turned all the way up at a music meeting, then the next evening for 3 hours turned all the way up watching a movie outside and when I went to charge it back up, the battery was only down 2 dots out of 5. The folks on our retreat are so happy with what they have seen so far from the functionality and sound of this speaker that we have been having fundraisers to save up for the party box and microphones to have for our actual retreat to replace our old, very cumbersome sound system. I love the quality of JBL speakers that I have experienced so far. In the short time I have had this, I am absolutely thrilled with it. The difference between lugging that old worksite speaker and this little, potent thing is like night and day. Also, some of our work vehicles no longer have working radios and I even take it to work sometimes when in those vehicles and have music to make the work day less dreadful. I really hope there is a good sale on the party boxes so we can get one for our retreat in the spring. We are saving up!

Had this xtreme 2 for over 2+ years now .. and still no sign of age, problems, or decline of health, still super long battery life per charge, waterproof AND dust proof. Taken this speaker up a mountain with atv’s many many times and no dust, mud, or water damage. Taken many hard hits right on rocks and concrete. Worth every penny, great looking speaker for the value, incredible JBL sound quality big speaker and the shoulder straps practically make it so it’s not even there. The connect + feature is outstanding and awesome to party with friends with other (older models). However one flaw is the connect+ system won’t pair with the party boost with the new jbl’s, tested it with my buddy’s xtreme 3 and it didn’t pair, which isn’t a huge issue, just buy the older models if you want multiple devices playing at once. Overall incredible speaker for the price, great performance.. great sound quality. Definitely worth buying the xtreme 2. (I highly recommend buy it brand new for best quality, performance, and durability)

Bluetooth connectivity is wonderful sound quality is wonderful hold the charges well and sounds wonderful. I give this to someone as a gift and they still say it is wonderful

This is a great portable blue-tooth speaker, JBL delivers quality sound for a good price. The highs and lows sound good and the battery life is respectable. Its a durable speaker, it connects really quickly to any blue-tooth capable device and it looks good for its size. Probably waterproof, I haven't tried dipping it in water but I keep it near the shower.

I wanted to review three JBL speakers, comparatively, in one go. I have in front of me now the Flip 6, Xtreme 2 and Xtreme 3. I started with the Flip 6, to replace some aging Bose soundlink Micros (Flip 6 is way better than both Bose Micro and Flex, IMO). Overall, of the three the Flip 6 is the best bang for the buck...great range of sound, decent volume and bass for indoor use. Does distort a little at max volume. I then got the Xtreme 3 with high hopes. It has tremendously crisp highs, deep lows, but it is VERY lacking in the midrange...the sound feels hollow, empty. Might be OK for synthetic music, but for anything instrumental I was disappointed. What I did find is if you pair the Flip 6 with the Xtreme 3 in party mode, they together sound very good. The Flip 6 fills the holes in the sound of the Xtreme 3, the Xtreme 3 expands the sound of the Flip 6. A great pairing...but now you need two speakers. So then I got the Xtreme 2...which I will be keeping instead of the Xtreme 3. The treble isn't as crisp, the base maybe not quite as low, but it has good midrange, a much more balanced sound. A good way to explain it might be that the Xtreme 3 is better for drums/beats but the Xtreme 2 is better for bass and rhythm guitar. I wish that the Xtreme 2 could do party mode with the Flip 6, I bet that would be awesome, but the Xtreme 2 doesn't pair with the newer ones. The Flip 6 I think has slightly better range than the Xtreme 2, but it isn't as powerful sounding. Xtreme 2 gets louder and doesn't seem to distort at high volume. In conclusion, from my perspective: the Flip 6 is the better overall, bang for the buck, for indoor use. The Xtreme 2 is really good, would take if over the Flip 6 for outdoors and wouldn't be sad to have it in the house. The Xtreme 3 alone is just plain lacking...but if used in conjunction with the Flip 6,together are quite good. Xtreme 3 plus Flip 6 is louder and crisper than Xtreme 2 alone, a bit better range but not as powerful of a tone and still not as balanced in the mids.

This speaker is great. I use it at my in ground pool while swimming. Only problem is many of JBL’s speakers have an eq in their app but not for the extreme 2. Sound quality is great, very loud and powerful. Connects to phone fast and easy. Love the phone connection this has, my phone will ring through it and I can use the built in mic to talk through it. It is built well and strong.

It sounds great despite its size; it was worth the purchase.
