I've worn each pair once, and I haven't washed them yet. I don't usually put my clothes in the dryer unless it is reaining or nighttime, so that won't be an issue.I wore these to work and oh how cute they look with flats - and I haven't been able to look good in flats for a while because of the swelling problem. I was told to get compression hose when I was diagnosed with stasis dermatitis and chronic venous insufficiency. These mostly stayed up, and only started to creep down my legs near the very end of the day at home when I put my feet up in the recliner. They are mild compression, and some days I'll need tighter support, but most days these will do great. Some folks mentioned that they were thin like tights. They are thin, but more like trouser socks. I didn't have fear of putting a finger through them. As they stretch up the leg, the pattern does get lighter, but I really expected this and it looks great anyway. The two things that I don't love about them is that they are shaped like tube socks, so there is no specific heal spot, and also they look to have been printed on one side, flipped over and then printed on the other side. There is no seam, but there is a line on each side of the leg where the patterns don't match. That said, the line is somewhat useful in that I know if they are on exactly straight. Overall, I like these socks a lot, my fiancee likes them alot (on me), and I will buy more! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I love these. I do have wider than normal calves - about 17" now - and am going through chemo which is causing my feet and ankles to be swollen. These alleviate the pain and re-distribute the swelling so I can walk more comfortably - plus they lift my spirits - they ARE a conversation starter for sure and the comments make me smile. I hand wash and line dry them and have no problem with the quality or shrinkage or losing elasticity. I'm back to buy a few more pairs so I have one for every day and just have to wash them all out once a week (since I have several months left of chemo). ### ⭐⭐ These are NOT socks! *by K***E on Reviewed in the United States on January 8, 2020* These are sheer and silky, like tights or pantyhose. I would categorize them as knee-highs. They do not provide much compression and they have a seam right across the tips of the toes, like pantyhose. The directions say to hand wash and hang to dry. You know, like pantyhose. They are not wide-calf.
