What is the difference between the PowerFast and the Power Adapter for a Kindle?

I have both the Power fast and the power Adapter. All I can say is that the Power fast does charge the kindle faster than the other. I wanted to be sure so when both of my kids kindles needed a charge, I plugged them both in at the same time and found that the Power Fast one was one bar faster then the other. I really hope this helps. I am pleased with both. However, I am on the run the go all the time so the fast charger works for me. I also use it for my I phone too.  You can plug the cord into the base and charge the I phone too. Good luck>

is this compatible with the new kindle fire hdx 7" tablet

This charger is a 9 watt charger, the connection is through your USB/micro USB cable which should have come with your Kindle Fire HDX 7" Tablet.Yes it is the preferred charger for your tablet. Other wall chargers are usually 4 watts, they will work but at double the time. If your Kindle is fully discharged the 9 watt charger will fully recharge it in about 4 hours. If you use your computer to charge your Kindle allow 8-9 hrs (overnight). I tried to charge my Kindle through the USB charger in my car once, it would have taken it about 20 hours to do that "not a preffered method, but it could work"I am a member of Prime and I stream video of movies and TV shows through my Kindle and I use a mini/HDMI cable into my 60" Flat screen, the picture is great. Using the 9 watt charger while I do this keeps the Kindle fully charged, and I sometimes do this for 4-5 hours at a time.The price is about right, so go ahead and get one for your self, you won't regret it. :>)

It's simply an adapter so that the included charging cord can be plugged into an outlet. As it comes stock, you can only charge through a USB on a computer or USB charging dock.

I couldn't find any warranty info on this.  But a return must be made within 30 days of shipping, which in my case is moot.
