Great addition to home gym.
I recently purchased the Gym Monster 2 by Speediance, and I must say it has transformed my home fitness routine. I spent many months researching options including Tonal amongst others. I settled on the GM2 based on reviews as well as a friend who had purchased a unit. The GM2 combines sleek design with impressive functionality, offering a versatile and efficient workout experience. Set up was easy as was creating profiles and figuring out how to work the machine. I have done a wide range of workouts on it so far and have been surprised about how varied and excellent the exercises are. The ability to have a virtual spotter provides me with confidence that I can work out alone and still push the weight to ensure muscle growth. The Bluetooth ring used to engage and disengage the weight also contributes to safety and convenience. Pros: • Compact and stylish design • Wide range of exercise options • Safety features including virtual spotting • Quiet operation • Easy setup and usability Cons: • The price might be a barrier for some • Requires consistent Wi-Fi for optimal use On balance, I feel the GM2 is an excellent investment for anyone looking to take their home workouts to the next level. It’s a complete gym in one machine, with features that cater to diverse fitness goals. The quality and functionality make it worth the price. I highly recommend it to anyone serious about home fitness.

Excellent! Great motivator
Bought this to try and get into shape. I am not a fan of gyms and was never a big weightlifting type, but this machine makes me look forward to working out. I really like the fully guided library. You can filter by muscle group of even length of workout. Machine has been operating fine and customer support is quite responsive. So far we are loving it and using it frequently. The challenges and badges are nice little motivators as well. I can see myself working towards the monthly challenges. I also like the space saving design. Way cheaper than the competition with no monthly subscription, and they are now releasing pilates as well.

I didn't realize I'd enjoy a smart home gym this much!
I’ve had my Gym Monster 2 (GM2) for about 2 weeks now, and all I can say is that we love it! Going into this purchase, my mind was wrapped around the fact that we’d have the ability to do a bunch of different exercises without having a bunch of weights to lug around, and all with a small footprint. What I didn’t give nearly as much weight to in my purchase decision was the “smart” part of the gym and the content available from it. This I think is where things get really cool! On day one, I did some free weights. That was great. Given all the pivot points for the cable you can do a lot of different exercise (like other cable machines). The first time you experience the weight turning on is sort of (and still to this day) magical. Being able to quickly change the weights and select from standard, cable, eccentric or fixed speed modes is a great feature. Also being able to set a spotter is awesome. If you can’t finish the rep, the machine will start to lower the weight until you’re able to get it moving again! Then on day 2 I tried one of the daily workout routines. This was awesome. I was able to select a 30ish minute workout that targeted the group of muscles I was interested in that day. I didn’t have to think much after that. I was guided through various video workouts, some of the videos tell you things to watch out for in your technique, and you get instant feedback if you’re lifting uneven, not holding your rep long enough, etc. At the end of the workout, you get a report to show you how you did, and it stores it in your profile. No more having to remember how much weight you used last, when you last did a certain exercise, or charting your progress, etc. It’s all there. I’ve since added my own custom workout routines where I can select the individual exercises from the catalog and specify the reps, weight types, etc., and it’s all ready for me to go with the click of a few buttons on the screen. So, what’s next? I want to try a multiple day/week programs that are available within the platform. The other thing I really like is that my kids like to use it. The rule I have is that they can only do a guided workout if they pay attention to the form and what the personal trainer is saying. This is great because they can learn the correct techniques and not treat my GM2 as another one of their toys! Overall, we love this thing. So, what do I not like? The only thing I can really think of is related to how the workouts are filmed and recorded. There seems to be two types of videos recorded. One that has video with a dubbed over (computer generated?) voice, and another where the personal trainer is actually talking to you. They each have their own benefits. I like how the dubbed over audio videos will stop the playing vocal track when you have 3 reps left and tell you that you have 3 reps left. But the voice track in general seems very impersonable. In contrast, the videos where the personal trainer is talking to you seems more personable and genuine, I’d imagine like working with a real personal trainer to some degree. The only bad thing is it doesn’t tell you when you have those 3 reps left, but they do tell you good job at the end. It would be cool if they could somehow combine the two styles of filming so that you had the feedback of where you’re at with your workout without having to look at the screen. A couple other things, the Official Speediance Community Facebook group is great and has a lot of positive vibes going on. The other thing I think is cool is the different goals and challenges that are available in the app. I’m working on the 20 Day Resolution Ready 2025 Challenge in hopes of winning a physical gold badge! I have a completely different type of product where that company does similar challenges and ships you badges or awards. It’s a great after-purchase experience for customers. I hope Speediance continues this! The other goals awarded in the app are also nice milestones to celebrate the work you’ve put into your workouts. Again, I’ve owned the GM2 for two weeks, but I’m loving it. I’ve used it almost every day and I can already see a difference in the mirror and how I feel. I can’t wait to see what the next few months bring to my overall health.

Great machine, especially for beginners!
I used to not work out at all but I wanted to start getting in shape. I had been looking at different options and the only options I could really come down to were the Tonal and the Speediance. Tonal was quickly out of the question due to being semi-permanently fastened to the wall, and the monthly membership fees. I became set on the speediance due to it being more compact, maneuverable and cheaper. Don't get me wrong, these things are still super expensive but in my eyes totally worth it for helping get into shape. We got the GM2 Works Plus on sale because of the few extra accessories like the adjustable bench. I've only been using this for a couple weeks, the first week was rough on my body, but now I notice I'm wanting to work out more because of how I'm feeling week 2. My body just feels a little bit better, I can only imagine what it will feel like after using this thing continually. I don't like going to the gym and I'm not a big fan of physical weights. I like that the speediance offers video to show you how to do each workout and the form. The accessory variety in a small form factor is really nice. I was expecting the electromagnetic pulley system to be more clunky but it really isn't. The only time I have issues, and maybe it's me, is when doing leg workouts and pulling to either side of the machine. The rope kind of rubs the wrong way on the plastic housing just outside the pulley, which I can see causing the rope to fray over time. Workout programs offered are pretty easy to setup. Overall, great machine if you're one who doesn't like to go to the gym or don't have a lot of time to workout, this makes it a lot easier to hop into a workout for 15m or an hour+.

DO NOT BUY – This machine will fail.
I spent over $4,000 on the Speediance Smart Home Gym Gen 2, and it has already broken multiple times within the first year. The core issue is with the magnetic resistance system. When it fails, all cables stop responding and the machine becomes completely unusable. The screen shows errors like “The motor is in a locked state (Error code 6),” and nothing works even after resets. This is not a minor issue, it makes the entire machine useless. I spent many hours troubleshooting with support, including multiple factory resets and hardware diagnostics. The problem was ultimately confirmed as a hardware failure. Customer support has been extremely inconsistent. I was promised a replacement, but communication became unreliable and slow. For a product at this price point, this level of reliability is unacceptable. A $4,000 machine should not fail like this, and it definitely should not require this much effort to get support. I strongly recommend avoiding this product until these issues are properly resolved.

Works great!
Just received and so far it has been a really good system. Work outs are easy to follow and the interface works well once you figure out the ins and outs. Only complaint all though minor for me is the Bluetooth ring it connects and reconnects frequently and sometimes when trying to click to activate the weight I accidentally raise the amount of weight and have to readjust before trying again. Slightly annoying but not a deal breaker. I get a good workout in from the comfort of my home with tons of weight programs and free lift movements.

An almost perfect machine. Very cool concept.
Built a makeshift gym in our basement. Overall, the machine is amazing and I would have gladly given 5 stars had it not been for 2 caveats. The first caveat is they abandoned the entirely free platform and now the AI features are largely locked behind a sub, however the machine can still be used in manual mode and is not locked behind a paywall like tonal and others. The AI features cost less than half the competitors subs so while annoying its not a deal breaker. Caveat#2 = dont even waste your time with couples mode unless wanting to do two seperate exorcises on each of the two pulleys and jump back and forth. Me and my Wife are supporting eachothers fitness goals. We alternate our rep sets and while one does their set of 10 the other hops on the virtual pinball machine or our dart board to play their round in player 1 and player 2 fashion. The caveat is this = swapping between profiles is absolutely not an option and if it is it would be very slow and cumbersome so you end up taking turns on the same profile instead.. this makes that profile lool like superman and doesnt produce great data. To prevent botching either of our user profiles we had to create a third user peofile called hubby and wifey..we work out together on this profile..we adjust the weight each time we alternate and its an absolute blast still. However, the speediance folks really should make a true partner mode which allows essentially player 1 and player 2 structure similar to darts and have it so player 1 touches the screens end turn button to go to player 2. Have it maintain the weight settings of each player aka profile and this machine would be 5 stars all day. We found a way to make everything work out in a way that makes the work fun. Some minor qol improvements and this machine cn go from being good to being great.

Great compact weight machine for at home!
I really like this device. It is effective but yet nice and compact. I have been utilizing the machine for about 5 months now, at least 20x per month. There is a large variety exercise plans that they come out with on a regular basis. They will have a monthly challenge that will encourage you to do about 15 workouts in a 20 day span. There is also an AI driven workout program but I haven’t tried it yet. You can also make custom workouts and workout with a partner. The weight feels really smooth 98% of the time. If it feels off, it’s often just a quick fix by slowly extending the cable then allowing it to retract slowly. The weight can go up to 110lbs per cable or 220 total. As long as you are not trying to go very heavy with benching, deadlifts, or whatnot it will be a pretty solid option at home. One small annoyance that I do find is that the bench included wobbles a little. Other minor software bugs have been getting fixed on a regular basis and the UI keeps improving. The Facebook user group is very active and they will often respond to questions or comments on there. When you are looking at ordering this, I would strongly encourage you to think about how you expect to get the device in place. It’s really heavy and going down/up stairs is very much a two person job and not for lightweights. If you think it might be too heavy for you it probably is and you might want to get an upgraded delivery.

Alles was man benötigt.

Excellent machine.
The gm2 starts to impress from the packaging. As soon as you open the box you can understand that this company has paid attention to all details. Fast delivery. Everything well and stable packed. The small wheels help to move around the heavy machine. And then you start using it. Excellent build quality. Very easy to adjust the weight resistance. A big screen with a "personal trainer". Easy to follow information. Good speakers to accompany your training. The team has payed attention to every little detail. You are not going to regret it.

Compact Home Gym
A great product that comes with a lot of accessories out of the box to enable you to target every muscle group in a very compact footprint, great for anyone that is looking for a home gym solution where space is the limiting factor. The accompanying app is also useful and allows you to build and schedule your workout calendar ahead of time with lots of sample workouts available, and anything not in the app can be done in the free lift mode. The only thing to keep in mind is this product comes in a very large and heavy package that is very hard to move if you have to go up or down a set of stairs.
