The Julia Donaldson Collection

Each CD starts with a relaxing reading of one of the stories complete with sound effects and some music. The second track then outlines the story again but in the form of a song. The songs are quite enjoyable to sing along to and quite catchy. I find these excellent to play in the car for a 3 yr old. My impression is that each CD lasts 10-15 minutes. For longer journeys, eg 45 minutes, they are pleasant enough to leave on repeat.

We got these for our 2 year old to keep her entertained during lockdown and they did the trick. She loved changing the CDs herself and they kept her amused for ages. Good price for 10 CDs. One thing to watch is, as with any CDs, they scratch easily, so if children are using them they don't last as long as you might hope!

These are great! We bought them to entertain my 4 year on long journeys. The stories are well told and he is definitely kept entertained. My only gripe is there are 10 cds (we haven't listened to them all yet) and so far each cd has the story told normally and then the story as a song. This really irritates my 4 year old! I don't want the song he keeps shouting. Ideally they'd all be on 2 cds. One with all the stories and one with all the songs as it makes life very difficult when travelling on your own with a single cd player and he wants another story. That said I plan on loading them onto my IPOD to solve that issue.

The stories are well read, there is some music but it accompagnies the story really well, there isn't to much of it. The song at the end of the story does my head in after the 10th time in one day, but my 3 year old loooves them, he really does. And to be fair the songs are really nice to sing along to. Fantastic buy, I highly recommend!

Great set of audio books which keeps my almost 3 year old transfixed on car journeys. She can now recite 4 of them and the songs. However the song disc should come with a health warning. Julia Donaldson is a talented author but the same cannot be said for her singing. My daughter didn't seem to mind but I emerged from the car with bleeding ears. Stick to the songs on the story discs which are sung by others who are not quite so tone deaf as Julia (watch out for A Squash and a Squeeze where Julia really belts it out at full screech!).

A must but daughter absolutely loves the story’s and songs uses them to go to bed at night we have all the voids so she looks at the pages with me while the narrator does a better job at the voices of the characters than me :) Just wish all 10 stories were on one CD far less fiddly.

This Julia Donaldson Song and Story Collection DVD has been a total hit with my kids! They especially love singing along to "What the Ladybird Heard" it’s become a favorite, and now car rides are actually something we all look forward to. The songs are catchy, the stories are engaging, and it's such a great way to keep little ones entertained (and happy!) on the go. It’s also a nice mix of storytelling and music, so it doesn’t get repetitive. A must-have for fans of the gruffalo etc. Highly recommended for road trips or even just quick drives around town!

Ich bin ein Fan vom Grüffelo. Meine Kinder lernen Englisch. Daher dachte ich, es sei praktisch. Aber letztendlich höre ich die Geschichten. Sie si d schön und es hilft, sich wieder einzufinden. Ich kann sie immer hören!

Love the CD set. A great selection of titles and arrived quickly in great condition. Very, very happy.
