These superb pumps from Fluval Sea have built in Smart Pump Technology that consistently provides optimal pump performance. They feature an integrated electronic circuit board that continuously monitors the pumps performance resulting in one of the most powerful energy efficient pumps currently available. This smart pump technology is also equipped with a thermal switch that will temporarily shut the unit down in abnormal conditions such as a blocked impeller meaning it will save the pump from buring out. Fluval Sea SP sump pumps can be used both in and outside of the sump for subermisible or dry use. The sump pumps from Fluval Sea feature an impeller and bearing made from Alumina Ceramic which has a superior wear resistance and prevents calcium build up, reducing maintenance frequencies and ensuring a longer pump life.

I've got an eheim 1260, rated at 625gph in the next tank and it is clearing out doing this pump, at roughly the same head height, which is rated at 300gph more. I would say these are overrated in their pump capacity just by watching each of my 4 tanks water movement.

This pump gets 3 stars just because it is built well and looks to be quality when I pulled it all apart. Same can't be said for the flow. I've got an eheim 1260, rated at 625gph in the next tank and it is clearing out doing this pump, at roughly the same head height, which is rated at 300gph more. I would say these are overrated in their pump capacity just by watching each of my 4 tanks water movement.

I replaced an Eheim 3000 pump with this one. It moves less water even though it is supposed to be a more powerful pump and the noise level is substantially higher. I will be reinstalling my older pump.
