She had already been matched up with Brett but he couldn't get the job. Mari was supposed to be matched up with someone else but Whitney couldn't manipulate the two together. I liked the characters for the most part, although Ken kind of turned out to be a little bit scary in the bedroom. Still haven't decided if I liked that turn of events. But, the plot was great and I love it when previous characters pop up because I'm still invested mentally in all of them as a family type group. The battle they're in requires them to stick together. The storyline of Ken and Mari was interesting, exciting, very intense, and heartbreaking. I have a complaint though. Am I the only one confused by the lack of concern in the story and characters about who the traitor in their midst is? It just seems strange that it's mentioned when there's an attack, yet the story never even tries to ponder who it might be. I love how Whitney just gets crazier to the point where the reader wonders why he hasn't imploded. Lots of action and drama. I hope some answers to important parts of the plot get answered at some point. They seem kind if important to me.

This is Ken Norton's story and its oh so good. I would be prepared for violence, darker storyline and it has triggers. Personally I loved the storyline, Feehan gives a real glimpse on Whitney's crazy character. In prior books Whitney is only spoken off, except book one but Feehan shows him in a different lite in this book compared yto book one. I am so happy to see Ken get his HEA. This is the fifth or sixth time Reading this story and each time it gets better. Happy Reading!!

THE STORY: Ken Norton is a GhostWalker, one of the genetically enhanced psychic soldiers. Ken and his twin brother Jack are a sniper team. Ken was horribly disfigured when he was captured in South America. Although for most of their lives, Ken was the easygoing twin, his torture has ripped off his mask and Ken fears that he is becoming a monster. Ken and his brother are searching for Jack's wife's twin sister who has been kept under the control of Dr. Whitney. When Ken and Marigold Smith meet, they worlds are turned around. Mari has been trained as a soldier since childhood. When Whitney begins pairing the women GhostWalkers with men to be used as breeding experiments, the women decide to escape. Mari doesn't trust Ken in spite of or because of their attraction, but the two are forced into close connection which challenges both Mari and Ken. OPINION: This was a difficult book for me to get engrossed in because the main characters are incredibly closed off. As they begin to open up to one another, however, I became transfixed by the story and couldn't put the book down. These are dark characters with sad pasts and a lonely present. I loved how they manage to find joy with one another even as they are guarded and afraid of the effect they have on one another. The overarching story and conspiracy is further revealed and a big disclosure is presented for longtime readers. There is definite progress being made on the overall story. Fans of CONSPIRACY GAME will be pleased to get what amounts to a partner book as Jack and Briony get important roles here and this book feels like a true resolution of CONSPIRACY GAME. WORTH MENTIONING: Fans of CONSPIRACY GAME should read this book. FINAL DECISION: This book was a little difficult for me to get into because of the hardness of the characters. However, as the characters reveal themselves to one another, I became more interested in the story and finally really loved the book. CONNECTED BOOKS: DEADLY GAME is the fifth book in the GhostWalkers series and is most closely connected with CONSPIRACY GAME. STAR RATING: I give this book 4.25 stars.

Auch dieses Buch der Serie hat mich nicht enttäuscht. Es gibt zwar keine neuen Erkenntnisse bezüglich der Hintergrundgeschichte. Aber die Geschichte ist spannend und die Liebesgeschichte herzerwärmend.

My favorite author. Love all of her books.

This is a series that I save, so this was a re-read for me, you know, when you read a series over and over because you enjoyed it. 👍😁

even though this series is about gen mod humans / assasins i still class it as a para/rom type book. this one in particular waa fantastic, all the reviewers have told you the story. ken is kidnapped and cut to pieces everywhere he has lost sensation in his body. comes along mari the orphan kidnapped gen mod hum and explosions are happpening. its an emotional sexy hot action packed series. excellent page count. great story lines, they all co incide. really fantastic.

I love the ghost walker series, every book is so different yet totally amazing. I recommend this series highly as well as all Christine Feehans other books, she's such an amazing author.
