Cyril and Fiona are a long-married couple who travel to an unnamed tropical coastal town to follow their sexual fantasies. There they meet another couple, Catherine, Hugh and their three children. Hugh is a photographer who specializes in nude photographs of peasant women. The Cyril/Catherine and Hugh/Fiona relationships start. Review: I couln't take it. - I tried to watch this to the end 3 times but gave up. The movie has its moments but is filled with dialog that comes out of nowhere, editing that leaves you wondering what you missed, and grainy photography/cinematography. The acting is fine but the rest of the movie lacks story and direction. Lacks it a lot. Review: intriguing, complex and somewhat bittersweet - this film is definitely not for everyone, but for those who are open to it (the topic and the way the story is told) they'll probably find it rewarding. given the number of negative reviews, I wasn't expecting much. however, I found the film to be interesting, well made and with a lot more depth to it than I anticipated. the title of the film describes it well: the blood oranges... it's like expecting oranges with sweet flavor but finding that you are consuming a fruit that has a lot more complexity to it than you anticipated, leaving you with a slightly bitter aftertaste. you can reject the fruit, or you can choose to accept it and enjoy it my impression is that the story features a clash of ideas related to love, respect, free will, lust and passion. we are all slaves of lust, passion and love, but how do we handle it? is it ok to be someone who just takes? someone who takes other people's things but refuses to share their own? where is the line between love and lust? personally, I think the main character can make a distinction between the two and that's how he is able to enjoy and survive charles dance's performance is superb! (he was the reason I was watching the film in the first place) under normal circumstances, I'd give the film 4/5 stars, but given the negative reviews I feel like it's ok to bump it up a bit

I kept thinking the writers would dissappoint with a bad plot twist
I kept thinking the writers would dissappoint with a bad plot twist, but they did not, the movie was really good to watch, solid entertainment with a good story line, characters andmostly good filming. A period piece.

I found this to be an intriguing movie but, ...
I found this to be an intriguing movie but, it led to a few dead ends emotionally. The complex characters were never quite fleshed out. I wish I'd found the book BEFORE I saw the movie. Charles Dance and Sheryl Lee added light and depth to the movie but, the other characters reminded me of lurking backdrops - -you know they're there but, not sure why. I wouldn't say this movie is a PASS but, expect to be left feeling a bit cheated in the end.

Mocking Humanity
exploration of the psychological mechanisms, inflicted perversions including the felonious enslavement of "marriage" and its attendant divorce racketeering outcomes in the majority of such, and brutal tools by which the felony tax evading, slave mongering, hate mongering against male citizens, war mongering for purposes of "sacrificing" yet more male citizens in foreign wars created for the purpose, male baby raping, belligerent blaspheming "religion" gangs. Even recites at one point the "written in stone" dictate of the flagrant revisionist "Moses" who, having destroyed the original set of Commandments of Yahweh, interposed a demand against humanity that there should never again be born a bastard such as himself, the son of the finding Egyptian princess who had been playing around with a Jewish slave male or of a Jewish slave female impregnated by a male member of the Pharoah's household. Expanded in recent years to include inflicting object rape con dumbs on places of worship of hetero religion, in violation of Article I of the US Constitution Amendments, this film presenting the felony religionist subversions of human and civil rights is nothing but a mockery of humanity.
