I first bought the cheap blue $20 125kh frequency unit online but it did not work. My daughter is in college at an on campus apartment with elevator and apartment access control key fobs. They only give out 3 fobs per apartment and lost fobs cost $100. So I rolled the dice again and bought this $70 unit. It worked great. I was able to scan and read the original fob and then needed to connect the computer to decode the encryption. It took about 5 minutes to crack and then I was able to write to a new fob! I had to use the 13.56 fobs as the 125 fobs or cards would not work. I did not try any other fobs or cards to copy but this unit will scan for 10 different frequencies. Who cares about the loud beeps and loud voice control, the thing worked!! Highly recommended, 5 stars!

Simply add batteries, hit OK button that you arent using illegally, press mode button until you get to desired card type (HID in my case), put card on the back where it says ¨card¨, hold press the read button and you have the card info. Then take a new card or fob (i made fobs from cards by the way) hold on back and press write. You should have instant success. instructions didn't come with it. But you don't need to connect to computer in most cases. This is a miracle machine in my opinion.

good for copying cards - really easy some issues does not connect to PC in the way you might expect i.e. you cant read or write from a pc their is no software for this, this means you cant find out HID site codes and codes, although you can read and copy the cards really annoying loud voice, that cant be turned off , you can open it and cut the cable to the speaker but be careful their are some very thin wires inside, cutting the wrong one is easy also think is a bug, to-do with the HID cards, but with the blank cards the send these are re-writable, however if you write and HID card's data to them you cant change them to a non HID 125mhz card i.e. you cant input a number and write it to that card, kinda silly

My unit broke within 48 hours of having it. It read 1 card but failed to write on any of the blank cards given. Build quality is like something I got from the 99 cent store, not even kidding you. Do not waste your money on this.

Does exactly what it should, you can even use it to copy, but not write new, HID Proxy fobs. The big annoyance is that it has a set of hideous high pitched samples of a voice telling you what it’s doing. I solved that by opening it up and ripping out the speaker…

I guess its not going to work for everyone but it worked seamless for me. (I rolled the dice again after the cheap $14 1 didn't work)...I put the key fob on the and pressed scan and it read "HID-125hz" with the card number, then I put 1 of the blank fobs on the back then pressed "write" and success.

I am an information security professional and this device has helped me demonstrate physical security weaknesses in various offices and other systems. Works right out the box and does a great job. for my use case. Keep it legal, kids.

It works is easy to use and used it on HID proximity key fobs with no problems.
