Fits 5qt KitchenAid Artisan mixer perfectly
It fits on top my 5qt glass bowl of my KitchenAid Artisan stand mixture perfectly. My previous name brand splash guard had a partial opening to the back and must have been a tad small because it was a serious balancing act to get it to sit properly on top. If you balanced it on the right side, then flour splashed out the left. So you had to fuss with it again to get it to balance o the left to prevent flour from going out the crack. Not this one. I can see that it fits perfectly on top with no gaps so I’m very confident that when I use it there will be no flour flying out the side. I just received it so have not had a chance to use it. I will try to remember to come back to update.

It's ok, Costco paper plate works better
This works yet still is pretty messy. I frankly have less mess when I cut a slit and a circle out of a Costco paper plate and set it on top of my KitchenAid mixer bowl. Then I just throw the plate away, but in my smaller kitchen I have to find a place for this tool. If I had it to do over again I would probably not get this but it's not like there's anything wrong with it it just doesn't prevent the mess any better than my Costco paper plates.

Kitchenaid mixer bowl sheold
It is awkward fit and adding ingredients to the mixing bowl is messier with it than without

It fits correctly and snugly IF you know how to install.
The trick is correctly attaching the pour spout portion. The spout is removed to place the shield on the bowl. The spout installs on a track and slides on 4 pins (two on each side). You need to pull the spout away from the center lift the outer slider pin over the flat vertical pin atrached to the bowl cover. This is what stops the pour spout from sliding and locks the spout and cover to the bowl. When pour spout is properly in place you can't spin the cover to reposition the spout. You lift the spout to free it from the bowl then position where you want to locate the spout. Reset spout to lock cover in place. To remove lift spout, slide pins away from the center and completely remove from splatter cover. After removing splatter cover, clean and reinstall spout on cover for storage or reinstall on the bowl for storage. Clean by hand or dishwasher top rack only.
