Square Reader for magstripe (USB-C)

Lost my original reader and bought this to replace it. Works great on my Android. It was very easy to set up and use. Very cost effective for occasional use.

Had this for my small business and got a new phone and changed the charging port, ordered this and came super fast and was exactly what we needed! It’s easy to use and good quality!

Amazing product works great and the app works super well. Only for card swiping so a cash app card won't work.

Square spares no expense when it comes to packaging their hardware. Even the $15 dock for this item came packaged really well. The reader is well made and very sturdy. It feels like opening a high dollar Apple product with the robust box. The only issue I have come across is that pairing to another device such as another phone/tablet has to be done manually by pushing the little button on the bottom of the device. The button is recessed to stop accidentally pushing it, however, this makes it require two hands to press it, making it where you have to lay your other device down to push the button. As for connection range between the bluetooth card reader and your device running the Square App, you can expect roughly 20-25ft before the card reader is no longer able to communicate with the Square App. The card/chip reader does auto reconnect to the last used device, making using it on one device pretty straight forward and reliable. The only issue I can see at the time of writing this review is that your customers might be concerned about popping their charge card in a handheld device that is not familiar to them. People trust cell phones/tablets more then a pocket sized device they have never seen before.

Works great so far when used have no issues with this device! It plugs into the bottom of your phone and no problem with it taking long to connect. Only works for the magstrip which is fine because if you have tap to pay you can take payments to your phone that way

So easy to use with the app! I had to go thru it three times to make sure it could actually be that simple! LOVE it!
