I have to say, this was the perfect gift. It's very easy for him to safely maneuver. He's 8, a little on the small side for an 8 year old, and it's perfect for him. His 11 year old brother really likes it too. A great gift for kids who have outgrown scooters and are interested in more age appropriate ride on toys. Definitely exceeded my expectations! It was a bit tricky to put together, the instructions are pretty brief, but it's doable.
