TL;DR: Fun, easy, and adorable. The pop up plush reveal is the best part, and the scents are sweet without being strong. My daughter is deep in her Hello Kitty phase right now, so this Cookeez Makery Toasty Treatz Toaster went straight into her favorites the minute she opened it. The whole pop up reveal is honestly the charm of this toy. You slide the little bread piece into the toaster, push it down, and when it springs up you get a surprise plush. It is simple, but kids love that kind of moment. The plush itself is soft, squishy, and lightly scented, just enough that it smells sweet without taking over the room. It looks like a breakfast treat, which makes it even cuter, and the Hello Kitty styling is just right. Nothing loud or overly busy, just that classic look kids always fall for. She plays with it more than I expected. She pops the bread down again and again to try and “catch” it when it jumps. It kept her busy while I was cooking dinner, which tells you everything. We couldn’t figure out how this works til we bought it, it’s all my daughter wanted for her birthday and turns out the oven is a magic oven. It basically had a trick door but it’s so cute because her and her brothers prepared the dough and mold and everything and then cooked it. The magic the first time they opened the oven to see a stuffie was so adorable! Even after they knew it was a trick door, they kept playing with it and using new things to change. Kind of a large oven but will pair nicely with the play kitchen. If you love Sanrio and a surprise, this is a great toy!!

I’ll be honest — I initially wasn’t going to buy the Cookeez Makery Hello Kitty set for my 2‑year‑old granddaughter because, for what you get, it does feel a bit overpriced. It’s essentially a small plush with a sound box inside and a cardboard/plastic “oven.” But once we actually used it, her enjoyment made every penny worth it. She had so much fun making the dough, putting it into the oven, and waiting for the bell. Her reaction when the stuffy popped out was absolutely priceless. The trap door can be reset, so we ended up putting other little toys inside and “baking” new surprises for her. She’s young enough that she doesn’t understand the trick, which makes it even more magical for her. The only “problem,” if you can call it that, is now she wants her mom to sit with her and keep making new toys over and over — she’s obsessed! Overall, even though the price feels high for what’s included, the joy and imaginative play it sparked made it completely worth it.

I thought this was going to be Hello Kitty but didn't bother to read into description good enough. It is a surprise of one of the sanrio Hello Kitty Characters from what I gather now. I was a little afraid to order from some reviews saying this is junk. If you think this is junk then either you are NOT a fan or DON'T like the fun of the element of surprise. To me, both are amazing, and I am an adult, I'd imagine for a child this would be tenfold amazing. This comes with a sort of a "coin" you slip it in and press/slide the toaster button on the side down. As you press it down the plushie comes up. How slow or fast you press the side thing depends on how slow or fast it pops out. I don't know that the coin actually does anything, I think it is just for fun. My daughter is 13 and largly has outgrown toys but loves sanrio and what is christmas without toys for anyone? So I got this and she loved it. She used the coin for fun . She grew up in the unboxing/surprise egg era of YouTube and really liked the nostalgia of this. It is lightly scented from the beads that come out the bottom. This isn’t junk unless your kids treat it like junk. That's more of a how you teach your kids to take care of their things vs a manufacturer issue.
