Adds volume and programme control to some NHS hearing aids
If you have been given NHS hearing aids recently then there is a fair chance that they will be a GN Resound model. The most recent models are equiped with bluetooth connectivity. Via a phone app you can change programs and adjust your hearing aid volume. I'm afraid that I am a bit "old school" and don't always have my phone to hand. Hence my interest in a remote control. Do however check that your hearing aids are a supported model before purchasing the remote. The ReSound remote comes in quite an attractive box containing the remote, a power adapter, a small velvet carry bag, the instructions booklet and a USB lead. Before use the instructions suggest that the remote is fully charged. Having an inbuilt lithium ion battery does have certain advantages. It does mean however that the product lifetime may be determined by the battery life which is not entirely green.Once charged the remote has to be "paired" wih your phone. Turn the remote on using the slider switch on the side. Remove the cover at the bottom of the remote and using a pencil or pen depress the small white button.Using the remote you can increase or decrease the volume using the "+" or "-" keysRepeatedly pressing the central "P" key cycles through the programs set up on your hearing aid.The "HOUSE" button takes you to the home position. The left and right arrows select the left or right hearing aid so you can have them at different volume settings.I have been using the remote for a couple of weeks now and found it to be very useful. The default volume setting is okay for most purposes but sometimes it is is useful to reduce the volume in a noisy environment for example. Note that the remote is compatible with the ReSound TV streamer as well.If you have compatible hearing aids and don't always have your phone to hand then the GN ReSound remote control is a useful addition.

Fab remote
This goes with gn streamer and well worth the money as keeps sound separate from other tv remote and sound and is controlled by you for direct sound to your hearing aids.

Can switch off hearing aids
I like the fact that in noisy conditions when I not wish to listen, then I can temporarily switch off the hearing aid. My audiologist tells me tghat this does not swith off the hearing aid batteries, so I cannot use it while I am asleep. Is this true?

Functional but flimsy
Works ok but construction is flimsy. The switch is very flimsy indeed, I have concerns over its longevity. NB: this is wireless 2.4GHZ not bluetooth and works perfectly with my NHS ReSound digital hearing aids.

Excellent knowledgeable service
This is a complicated area, particularly when it comes to pairing a new remote with the hearing aids.(It is fair to say that while ReSound hearing aids are excellent, the instructions that come with them are obscure, confusing and useless).Shaz, of Keephearing Ltd sorted things out and made sure I got the right remote – and the clarity of his instructions regarding pairing with the hearing aids was quite exceptional.
