Review: My favorite of this series! - It’s no big secret that I have a huge weakness when it comes to single parent romances. There’s just something about them that hits all the right spots and sucker punches me in the feels every single time. Make Her Mine wasn’t only sexy, fast-paced and incredibly heartfelt, but it was also absolutely one of those single dad stories that will leave your heart and soul so happy and full. Ashlan and Jace will steal your heart, but Jace’s little girls will OWN you. Make Her Mine, a standalone in Laura Pavlov’s Honey Mountain series brings us swoony single dad, Jace and the sweet and caring Ashlan Thomas. The beautiful chemistry and connection are there, but so are the fear, doubts, and uncertainties. Jace struggles with his feelings regarding Ashlan’s younger age and the fact that he’s a long term friend of the Thomas family...not to mention he’s hanging on a thread when it comes to his two daughters, Paisley and Hadley. I absolutely ADORED this wondrous romance! The characters, the scenery, the scorching hot chemistry…I couldn’t get enough! This is pure romance at its best. Laura Pavlov writes a realistic setting intertwined with comical scenes, tears, happiness, a little angst, sexy scenes and just so many real-life moments. There are so many really wonderful moments in this book, between Ashlan and Jace and Jace and his daughters, that gave this story so much feeling. It’s such a sweet, and sexy, story, with a bit of angst, a little frustration, and a whole lot of joy. Everything I’ve come to expect and love from Laura Pavlov. This story is just full of happiness, heat, and charm all wrapped up amongst the pages. This book is spot on when it comes to experiencing all the feels! I couldn't get enough and I'm counting down the days until I get to make the beautiful escape to Honey Mountain once again.
Review: A Sweet Read Highlighing the Everyday Man As a Romantic Hero - A sweet read with just enough plot to keep a reader engaged without fully diving into angst or dragging us through unnecessary misunderstandings. ***Spoilers are encased with ⚠️ emojis on either side First, I adore the town of Honey Mountain. This is the first book in the series I've read and the town and its people are so lively. Laura Pavlov did an excellent job in making the charm and appeal of small town life shine. In addition to that, I loved how much a part of the firefighter life she wove into the story. It wasn't just Jace's occupation, nor was it something reflected on from Ashlan's childhood. We got to see him at work both around the house and out fighting fires, as well as see her in the role of a family member with not one but three loved ones working on the front lines. Now the characters. Jace's daughters were adorable. Their personalities were so robust and distinct without appearing older than they were. Their shift in confidence and mindset was a gradual, believable change, showcasing not only how wonderful of a father Jace is but how natural, caring, and giving Ashlan is their nanny. More than any moment from Ashlan or Jace's POV, seeing the growth of his daughters really illustrated for the reader just how kind and patient Ashlan is. We aren't just told that she's a sweet, understanding soul, we are shown it in numerous ways with the gradual blossoming of Paisley and especially Hadley. Ashlan at times I felt lacked any flaws. I cannot recall a single moment throughout the book where she exhibited less than perfection in her character traits. There's a snappish moment when she and she and Jace cross paths with ⚠️ Karla, the girls' mother ⚠️ while out on a date, later a few justifiable flares of jealousy over ⚠️Karla's return to the girls' lives and her subsequent removal from their lives to ensure Jace has the best shot at keeping his daughters with the custody battle his ex-wife is waging ⚠️, and then finally, and again justifiable, ⚠️ her devastation and heartbreak after removing herself from Jace and the girls amidst the custody battle ⚠️. That said, at no point did her lack of flaws turn me off from the story. In fact, it did just the opposite. Ashlan truly is the breath of fresh air and the sunshine the king family needed. Anything but her compassion shining through would have felt disingenuous to her character. As for Jace... Holy hotness, someone call the Honey Mountain Fire Department, this man is bring the heat! He is sexy, he is passionate, devoted, and a wonderful father. He is the perfect romantic hero for Ashlan and wonderful inspiration for her own romance novel that she's writing throughout the course of the novel. Best of all, he is undeniably human. I genuinely felt while reading this book that a man like Jace King, while the star of a romance novel, is a completely obtainable standard of a man. There was nothing about him that screamed, "Yeah, this could only be found within the pages of a book," and I think that is a true testament to how stellar of a writer Laura Pavlov is. She isn't making her readers fall in love with a fantasy but with an actual, real man, with real struggles and flaws, who is doing his best every single day and showing up at every moment. My only true criticism of the book was that at times things felt a bit repetitive. Some sections of the book read nearly verbatim as others. There were also points when reading that the passage of time read more like a summary of something that happened in a book than as if we were reading a novel. I also would have liked to have seem a bit more of Ashlan's journey as a writer since we got great scenes of Jace as a firefighter, but I feel that is beginning to actively look for flaws in the story. Overall, Make You Mine, is a great small town, single dad and nanny romance story. There's a little bit of drama, a dash of angst, but through it all you're never worried about what the outcome of the story will be, merely how will we get there. I cannot wait to explore the stories of the other Thomas sisters in Honey Mountain after reading this one.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ BOOKWORM REVIEW: Make You Mine by Laura Pavlov
*by F***M on August 26, 2022*

RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 STEAM: 🔥🔥🔥 I know kids in romance reads can sometimes be a mood killer, but Laura Pavlov finds the right balance to make you fall in love WITH THEM and the main characters. Ashlan - one-fifth and the youngest of Honey Mountain's infamous Thomas sisters - is just glad to have this nanny gig. Fresh out of college, she was not looking forward to living at home with her dad, so finding this live-in nanny job with the two most adorable children is a jackpot. Having a sexy, caring firefighter as her boss is her bonus. His being equally attracted to her is an even bigger bonus. Too bad she and Jace are too hesitant to act on their feelings for each other. After all, she works for him, and that decade-wide age gap is another reason being together is a no-go. Yet, the universe keeps throwing them signs that they are each other's happily ever after. Will they follow the signs or continue ignoring them? Jace and Ashlan are relationship goals. Sometimes I forget about their age gap until it is mentioned again in the story, because Laura Pavlov does a phenomenal job of developing such a mature character in Ashlan despite her age. I especially love when this becomes even more obvious when certain adversity arises in their relationship. Their connection clearly centers around family, and that story is established, developed, and paced really well from beginning to end. I really enjoyed how their immediate and extended families are so relatable. The "potty incident" especially had me laughing in tears, because it is such realistic chaos when it comes to small children. Speaking of, Paisley and Hadley King stole the show in every scene they are in, and they are guaranteed to steal your heart. Their presence and character development really drive home the focus on family. This can be read as a standalone, but I have loved Pavlov's Honey Mountain series so far. If you are a fan of big-family, small-town romances, I am sure you will, too.
