The receiver unit needs mains power and has a 2-wire connection that replaces the output from a mechanical thermostat. Typically you mount it next to a programmer and connect it into that. If your boiler has an integral programmer you have to be able to identify the correct wires to connect to the receiver. "Easy" depends on your level of competence.
