It's a bluetooth GPS receiver, it's compatible with any app that supports bluetooth GPS receiver. It works with my iPhone so I guess will work with iPad's iOs version too out of the box.

Size, it's about 2-2.5 inches x 2-2.5 inches x 1 inch.I haven't tried it in my pocket, but I have tried it in a ground floor room with no windows and the door closed. It took about 5 seconds to get a signal.
