One of them has been running 24/7 for probably 2 years now. There are no power spikes if you use the output on/off button, the only way to get a small spike is to cut the mains power while the output is enabled but you're not supposed to do that anyway. I very much prefer these over switch-mode supplies because the output is extremely clean. The voltage and current settings and display are very accurate. I use these all the time and I bought my first one 4 years ago; I have both KA3005D and KA3005P (programmable) models and I've used to software to script one of them for automated testing. I did have an issue at one point where I needed customer support and both Korad and the seller (SRA) have been absolutely great with their support which is really important to me and I would say they went above and beyond. I had originally considered buying a "fancy" bench-top dual supply but decided that for the same money I can get 3 of these and that turned out to be a very good decision. My priority is to never get into a situation where I needed another power supply and not have one. I have 6 of them permanently as part of my work bench and a few more to move around where needed.
