Sized for extended backcountry missions, our new Poacher 40L offers ample features and storage for the most ambitious skiers and riders. With its wrapping molded backpanel design and larger A-frame carry loops to accommodate wider skis and boards, this large-volume pack still ensures optimal comfort on the skin track and through the descent. Dual-position helmet carry options, splitboard pole attachment loops and glove-friendly cam-lock buckles make the Poacher 40L a highly detailed and ultra-functional pack for the most demanding tours. Review: Beautiful backpack๐๐ค - I look forward to using this, it has been holding my iClimb tent ever since I have received them; sadly just locating dust waiting for the right time to use them. Beautiful product๐๐ค Review: Awesome splitboarding pack, best overall value, quality, features and capacity - Possibly the best overall splitboarding backpack on the market in terms of value, quality, features, and capacity. First off, Dakine quality and durability is excellent and this pack is another high-quality, well-designed product. Easy to access avy gear in a separate outside pocket, which is essential. Storage options galore! I like the exterior strap for keeping my poles handy on the descent. Options for a water bottle (separate exterior pocket) or hydration bladder (inside the pack with options to route through either shoulder). You can carry your board vertical or horizontal, plus options for carrying skis "A frame" style. 40L capacity is just right for day tours with a healthy margin of safety gear. Top pockets help organize smaller things (compass, map, snacks, cell phone, keys, goggles, etc.) and keep them handy for easy access. Padded back is very comfortable with built-in (lightweight) back protector. Shoulder and waist straps are easy to adjust, well padded and very solid. Maybe add a pocket on both waist straps (currently only has one on the right). Honestly no complaints! Dakine should consider making an even larger capacity version for multi-day tours and trip leaders / guides (who often carry extra equipment for the group). Super stoked, highly recommended!!!

All that and a bag of chips
This is my third DK poacher series bag. Ive also had a burton ak bag as well. This one exceeds them all & This one does not fail to disappoint. From the hydration tube pass through inside the shoulder strap, to the microfiber lined goggle pocket; there is no shortage of features. I am still finding pockets like a month into having and using it. I really do like this bag. My one gripe would be the chest and waist buckles are probably the flimsiest that I've ever encountered. This is an easy remedy though when they eventually do break. Ill replace them with some nice metal ones. If you're on the fence I suggest taking the leap. You will not regret it.
