Good quality
Perfect for what I needed. Came quickly and in good condition.

Looks beautiful.
Excellent, but foam applicators tend to make it foam up and create bubbles. Don’t rush the drying time between coats. Also, don’t use old stuff. A fresh can works much better.

Use thin coats , it is thin , avoid drops
This outdoor water-based polyurethane gives a nice protective finish, but it is quite thin and watery compared to other products I’ve used. Because of the consistency, it can easily form drips and runs if you apply too much at once. It’s important to use a small amount and apply thin, even coats to avoid dried drops and uneven texture. When applied carefully, it dries clear and provides good protection for outdoor surfaces. The final result looks smooth and clean if you take your time with light layers.

Application was challenging with the suds or small bubbles.
I like the result, but the application was tough with the amount of suds or little bubbles. I applied it according to the instructions. I used a foam brush, never shook up the can, but the little bubbles were frustrating. I used a small nylon brush to clean up any bubbles, as I moved around the painted statue I was varnishing.

Fast Drying and Water Cleanup
This varnish is fast drying and it was great that it had water cleanup. Easy to apply and coverage was very good and with the “satin” finish, it was very easy to get a consistent look.

Won’t yellow, holds up to the weather.
Goes on easily, dries quickly for adding multiple coats, holds up to the weather. I faux painted a fiberglass deck box to mimic wood grain and stone, and wanted to be sure the look would last. So far, sun and rain are no problem. The surface looks a little milky after 24 hours of rain, but clears up perfectly when its dry again. Best choice I’ve made in a long time!

Results are tacky, in both senses of the word
I thought this water-based spar varnish was a great idea, making for much easier cleanup. Wrong. This stuff applies with all sorts of bubbles, leaving a finish that's a rough mess, and it fails to ever completely dry, remaining permanently tacky. I'd return it in a heartbeat except I've already opened the can and used some of it. From now on, I'm using tried-and-true oil-based varnish.

Product works great!
I used this product on my outdoor stone lanai patio to seal it. I put three coats down, rolling each coat after letting it dry the suggested drying time. I live in Florida, and it has held up very well in the sun. It is basically indestructable. I put one of the coats on apparently before the morning moisture had burned off, and after about three months some black mildew showed up, UNDER the Varathane, on a few of the stones. I used the very best stripper I could find, but then finally had to use a 3500 PSI washer to get the varathane off, in combination with the stripper. This is a great product, and it is a water base.
