A Trackball That Solved My Wrist & Shoulder Pain — and Changed How I Use a Mouse
Nick’s Take (The short story) This was my first trackball mouse, purchased to help resolve wrist and shoulder strain — and it genuinely delivered. After 10 months of daily use, I now prefer it over a traditional mouse. Comfortable, precise, thoughtfully designed, and worth the price if ergonomics matter to you. 1. Context & Use Case This is my first-ever trackball mouse. I purchased it specifically to address wrist and shoulder discomfort that developed from long hours at my desk. At the time, I was using a Microsoft Sculpt keyboard, and now a Kinesis MWave, both aimed at improving ergonomics. The MX Ergo S became the missing piece of that puzzle. I intentionally gave myself 10 months of daily use before writing this review to fully adapt and honestly evaluate whether it made a long-term difference — and I’m happy to say it absolutely did. 2. Learning Curve & Transition There is a learning curve, primarily in retraining your thumb to handle cursor movement. For the first few days, things felt awkward. After a couple of weeks, it started to feel natural. Now, I genuinely prefer the trackball experience over a standard mouse. Once muscle memory sets in, the precision and comfort become second nature. 3. Ergonomics & Comfort This is where the mouse truly shines. The angled design fits comfortably into the palm, keeps the wrist in a neutral position, and significantly reduces shoulder movement since the mouse itself remains stationary. After extended use, I noticed: Reduced wrist fatigue Less shoulder tension More relaxed overall posture For anyone dealing with repetitive strain, wrist pain, or shoulder discomfort, this can be a game changer. 4. Build Quality & Features The build quality feels premium and solid. Highlights: USB-C rechargeable (a feature I didn’t know I needed, but now greatly appreciate) Bluetooth connectivity — extremely helpful for workplaces that restrict USB dongles Smooth, responsive tracking Buttons are well placed and easy to reach I purchased this alongside an MX Anywhere S for travel, and quickly realized how much I valued the wireless charging and Bluetooth flexibility across both devices. 5. Cleaning & Maintenance Cleaning is refreshingly simple. The bottom plate pops off, allowing you to gently push the ball out (a pen cap or pencil eraser works perfectly). A quick wipe of the internal sensors and ball keeps tracking smooth and consistent. It takes under a minute and makes a noticeable difference. 6. Who This Is For Ideal for: Desk workers Programmers Designers Anyone dealing with wrist, forearm, or shoulder strain Users seeking ergonomic improvements Less ideal for: People who frequently move their mouse long distances across a desk Gamers who rely heavily on rapid, sweeping movements 7. Value & Price Perspective At around $100, this is not a casual purchase — but for ergonomics, it feels justified. If this reduces pain, strain, or fatigue during daily work, the value becomes very clear. For me, the comfort improvement alone justified the price. 8. Final Rating Five stars. Even at its premium price, this mouse has delivered meaningful comfort improvements, excellent usability, and long-term reliability. It solved the problem I bought it for — and that’s ultimately the highest bar a product can meet.

Quality Mouse & Saves my Wrist
Bought this to replace one of the older models of the same trackball I misplaced. I was initially sad to see the price increased on this model from the one I purchased a few years ago, but I can tell the quality has improved so I'm happy with the cost knowing now quality improvements were made. In my experience, this specific trackball is durable and my last one lasted me over 2 years with heavy use; it stills works, was just misplaced. Overall, I love this mouse. The tilt on it is so nice for my hand and my wrists. I work in IT but also do digital artwork and graphic design as a secondary job so I'm constantly using my wrists with typing, using a mouse, and drawing. I take extra care of my wrists as I've had symptoms of carpal-tunnel flare up over the years and this mouse has been very helpful in ensuring I'm not hurting my wrists. I noticed my hand would start cramping with my regular, non-trackball mouse and my wrists would start to get sore. I'm not sure how I feel about the material yet as it seems to have this type layer with silicone feel. This silicone layer/coating does attract dust (you can see my product photos after only 1 day's use where dust is building up on the bottom). In my experience, these coatings wear over time, revealing shiny plastic underneath but I want to give this mouse a fair chance before assuming it's going to have issues with the coating. Did not come with a USB-C cable for charging but I'm OK with that if it means keeping costs down and I have tons of spare USB-C cables anyway. My only gripe is I wish they would include a slot or hidden compartment like some of their other mouses to place the wireless USB dongle so it doesn't get lost when not connected to a computer and not being used. I'll update this review if I find anything worth noting.

Good update to an already great trackball
I've been really pleased with the Logitech MX Ergo S trackball mouse. Having used the previous version with its older micro USB port, this upgrade brings some nice improvements to an already excellent mouse. The USB-C charging is a welcome change that makes charging more convenient. A quick 1-minute charge gives you 24 hours of use, and when fully charged it lasts up to 120 days Amazon – so battery life is rarely a concern. The quieter clicks are a noticeable improvement that makes the mouse more pleasant to use, especially in shared spaces. Logitech has made the main buttons 80% quieter than the previous model Digital Camera World, which I appreciate during long work sessions. For comfort, this mouse delivers. The 20-degree tilt angle reduces muscle strain by 27% compared to regular mice Cdw, and I can definitely feel less wrist fatigue after a full day of work. The shape fits nicely in my hand and provides good support. The trackball performs smoothly, allowing precise control without moving your entire arm. Switching between regular and precision modes with a dedicated button is handy for detailed work. The six programmable buttons can be customized through the Logi Options+ app to fit your workflow. Overall, the MX Ergo S is well-built, comfortable, and helps reduce wrist strain while maintaining good control. If you're concerned about wrist health or prefer trackballs, it's definitely worth considering.

What are you waiting for? This is the trackball mouse you're gonna love!
Why did I wait so long to go with the perfect trackball? Features I didn't even realize I would love!: - cordless! It charges very quickly, and lasts more than a week on one charge. - it feels solid! Two positions with a rubber grip bottom makes sure it doesn't slide around your desk or bed or wherever your pc is set up. - the bottom is magnetized, so it pulls right off to quickly access the track ball for easy cleaning! - since it is cordless, so easy to use it in all kinds of environments, and unlike a regular mouse that requires space to use, you need only the space that this sits in, to use. I use this on my counter while I'm cooking to change YouTube videos or Netflix movies playing on the side screen, and it has a great cordless range to the device. - it has the potential to hook up to several devices, so it's a quick push of a button to select the device, and of you go, rolling the ball and controlling the interface. My setup is a wide screen monitor hooked up to 3 different computers, I have a cordless Dygma Raise 2 keyboard that can connect to any of these PCs, along with this mouse that can also connect to any of the 3 PCs, so I have one keyboard and one mouse controlling everything on my desk. It affords the ability to have a clean looking setup, and I can't say enough how easy it was to learn how to switch between systems, and how easy it was to adapt to using a track ball mouse over decades of using a standard mouse. It's solid, easy to use, easy to clean, easy to charge, a real quality mouse that I'll have for years!

Great idea but too big for some hands
The idea and build quality are good, but the design favors larger hands (mine is about five inches when I spread my fingers wide). I really liked the buttons, the ability to switch between sensitivities, and the adjustable angle. Unfortunately, it kept my hand too open instead of letting my hand rest naturally on top without effort, actually making my wrist more tired trying to keep my hand in the right position. What was particularly odd for me was trying to coordinate my thumb on the track ball; I could do it for a short while but then my finger starts loosing accuracy. Adding my index finger helped. Maybe I just needed more practice. If Logitech made a smaller model or if my hand were larger, I think it would be a much better option.

The best track ball mouse
This is easily one of the best computer mouses I've ever used. Comparing this to the cheaper model which I used for years until it died, this one is: Heavier More sturdy Easier on your wrist for long periods of use Nearly silent clicking Rechargeable instead of battery powered And has various speeds for scrolling Honestly, had I known this version existed, I would've switched to it a while back.

Worth your money!
Its a great mouse, super comfortable, and a long battery. The trackball is very smooth and I can fully rest my hand and fingers on the mouse without any buttons being triggered. Fret not about it sliding around on your desk, it has plenty of grip, furthermore it doesn't accidentally switch angles during use. It has ONE issue, if you intend to use this in an environment where soot will be on your fingertips then frequent cleaning is required which takes less than a minute. I've been using and cleaning this mouse for about 6 months and it still works perfectly fine.

Insanely good battery life!
Some excellent functionality like previous models. New pros USB-C, can go a couple months without needing a charge, when it does need a charge it charges really fast. Secure connection via Bolt dongle. Cons: have to have admin rights to get the bolt pairing software to work. So, if you want to use this on a work computer, you'll need to pair it up on a personal PC first.

This is the first time I'm trying a trackball mouse for work and I'm blown away by how comfortable it is. It may take a few days to get used to and playing with the settings to make it match yours. I switched from an Apple Magic Mouse which was a pain to work with, especially during long work days. Super happy with the mouse, its comfort and quality. Highly recommend!

I can recommend it to anyone
This is the one. It takes some time to get used to, though. It took me about a week to use it comfortably, and now I can’t use any other mouse—and I don’t want to. That said, I do have a few complaints: I wish it had infinite scroll. Also, why is the side scroll frequently disabled?

Scroll wheel is not as in picture. It is rounded not dbl track on flat diameter
Everything about the mouse works as I wanted but... the biggest source of pain for me personally was rolling the scroll wheel. A rounded wheel (like a bicycle tire) causes me pain in the center of my index finger. Enough that I am switching fingers to avoid the discomfort. The single biggest deciding factor for me paying the extra money for this mouse was the double track on flat diameter scroll wheel as in picture. Sure enough the mouse arrives and its the same exact scroll wheel I was seeking to replace - a bicycle style radius wheel. This provides zero relief for the finger pain I was hoping for. Its a great mouse otherwise but for the wheel. Now I'm using it simply because I paid so much for it and finger pain continues. To the manufacturer: Is it too much to ask that your photos are actually of the product?
