Oggi 5035 9-Piece Oyster Set

This was a great set. The forks are very nice looking. The oyster knife worked great although I did not get use to the wood holder. The lemon squeezer was also very good. Great price for 9 pieces.

Kinda flimsy, but did it's job. Wish it was made of higher quality metal.

The set was very well made and is very nice looking. The wooden holder and the knife works fine for small and flatter oysters, but not so well for large deep-cup oysters of New England. Deep-cup shell sat in the holder in a awkward angle and resulted in most of liquor to spill out when opened, the wooden holder's table edge catcher was too small to hold securely against often rounded off table edge. The knife was very nicely made but the blade was not quite stiff enough to pry open the large and very stubborn New England Oysters, and not quite long enough to reach the abductor muscle from the hinge side. Despite its drawbacks I liked it enough to order 3 sets. I plan to modify the wooden holder by attaching a longer hardwood base and a deeper table edge catcher so that I can hold it from behind the knife for safety.

My husband bought 2 dozen oysters. The wooden oyster holder was broke in half after the 2nd oyster... no, not the 2nd dozen, THE 2ND OYSTER. After 2 dozen oysters, the knife looked serrated because it was so chipped and dented. I'm not sure it's possible to screw up forks, so that part was fine.

This was a gift for my awesome husband who spends his winters in Florida. He loved it and promised to make me oysters when I get there next weekend!

The knife broke on the first use but the forks are cool

Does the job, but lower quality than I expected.
