Good:-Accessories included in bundle are excellent. I found everything useful except the LCD screen protector, which I found, even with careful use of the applicator, made the large LCD screen substantially less visible, but that is okay.-Great for snapping pictures of birds at rest. Planes are very possible with correct positioning. Birds in flight is difficult, but definitely possible with patience, good positioning, and luck.-Easy product to buy and, for the most part, use; no decision paralysis over frame/lens/accessories to buy because this is all-in-one (excepting perhaps some filters, snap-on lenses, and hot shoe light/diffuser). It's relatively very difficult to get sucked into spending a $thousand a month buying accessories for a bridge camera.-"Digital zoom" can be outright disabled in options so you don't accidentally use it.Neutral:-Serviceable photo quality beyond what the camera was made for (far-away shots). Unless you're doing photography professionally, you can use a P950 for everything, including macro shots with a DCR-250 snap-on lens. You aren't going to get The Best pictures, but they're totally fine. Even for your non-bird photos, if you've only been using iPhones and the like up to now, prepare to be moderately impressed.-Viewfinder is uncomfortable to use; no surprise there.Bad:-Awful, awful, awful software. Cynical, anti-consumer challenge-response protocol is not documented for the consumer to properly own the product, and it is so convoluted that their official SnapBridge software flat-out doesn't work. I spent about an hour trying to pair tablet with camera, and was able to get them to pair just one time (the third or fourth attempt), but then they wouldn't connect, so I instructed the tablet and camera to forget each other, reset Bluetooth, and started trying again from scratch, but was never able to get them to connect again. Since they've made sufficient effort to keep me out of talking to the software with my own code, wireless comms on the camera is a dead end; USB connection only.-This guy are sick! In line with what's apparently a hard Japanese rule, the localization has frustrating oddities. Let us say you want to connect to a paired device. The SnapBridge software says "Connected to device. Connecting to device. [OK]" I think it was supposed to be an error message given, in reality, it failed to connect, but who knows.-Awful software extends to the camera firmware otherwise, with a GUI appearing to've come from the 1900s. The software is very paternal, presenting you with very limited options. Everything "advanced" feels clunky and hostile.-Autofocus is almost always a more frustrating experience than manually setting focus, except for quick shots of birds; not unusual for a camera, but it's bad nonetheless.

I got this camera after lots of research to be able to zoom in on birds. It was really disappointing.1- picture quality is low and dark2- video quality is shaky and blurry even with a tripod3- the camera struggles to focus. Getting a clear picture of a bird is impossible.4-as you start to zoom in, it gets really shaky even with a tripod, so photos and videos are terrible.5- I decided to return it and packed everything using de original box and everything was sent back in perfect condition. To my surprise I didn’t receive a full refund. I was charged $117 restocking fee. I contacted the seller and refused to comply with the free return policy. They said I opened it. No where in the item description states there is a restocking fee. Obviously I have to open the package in order to try the camera and if I’m not satisfied, I should receive a full refund. For all these reasons I recommend to stay away from this camera and seller.
