I had an older EcoVac for years which finally started malfunctioning (it could have been fixed but I was not up to the task). At first I bought another brand that I thought must be superior. Boy was I wrong. The EcoVac is miles ahead of every other brand. The mapping is seamless. It just works. It figures out where your carpet is all on its own. You can follow its every move on the map on your phone. And the anti-tangle brush actually works (my older one had a different brush and I had to manually de-hair it after every single run). This never gets tangled and it handles an intense amount of pet hair with ease (something I also had to handle manually with my older one). The auto-emptying actually works. It’s smart, high quality and just all around the best. It’s hardly even $50 more than the other brands that don’t have half the features and just plain don’t work. Get this one. You wont be sorry. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you have pets or carpet, THIS VAC IS THE BEST!!!! *by R***Y on December 11, 2024* If you have multiple pets like we do, (2 big hairy Aussies and 6 cats) and/or carpeting, THIS is the one for you!!!!I am almost ashamed to admit I have tried 7 different self emptying vacuums/brands (Roomba, Shark, Roborock, Eureka, Eufy and Narwhal, and the Ecovac) since June and sent each one back, mainly because they couldn’t handle the hair at our house, and they didn’t do a good job on the carpet, until this one. IT IS AMAZING!!!!! First, as I unboxed it I could tell a NOTICEABLE DIFFERENCE in the weight of it. It is very heavy compared to the other ones I tried. It just feels like so much better quality.For its actual purpose, it cleans the carpet beautifully, AND picks up SO MUCH dirt and hair, AND leaves lines in the carpet just like a regular full size vacuum. I love how easy it is to empty the dirt collection/tower part, it doesn’t take any bags, you can set it to go back to the base to empty when the dirt cup is full, the app/map is VERY user friendly.I have it set on MAX suction power (it has 4 levels) and to make just one pass (it has the option to make 1 or 2) and it does a great job on the carpet. It does shorten the battery life, but i don’t mind, I like the extra power it has and it will go back and charge then resume where it left off. Even set on max, it only has to go back once to recharge in my house.I have not tried the mop part yet, I mainly used the robot vac strictly for vacuuming. We are planning to replace the carpet with LVP in the near future, and I will come back and update this review when I use it.I think this robot vac is an excellent value for the money and it gets the JOB DONE! It is a true workhorse and so powerful! ### ⭐ Not ready for prime time - died after 1 year *by M***Y on January 24, 2021* Update April 2022 :- LDS malfunction after a year - this means the vacuum won’t start - if you are having LDS issues contact the manufacturer ASAP before the one year warranty runs out - I tapped the sensor and it ran for 2-3 months after manually tapping it every time but now after 15 months of purchase it won’t work at all and keeps saying ‘LDS malfunction’—————————I am a long time Deebot customer and I like the previous Deebot vacuum that I have purchased from Amazon.This model looks extremely well made and much more slicker looking than the older Deebot versions.It does a good job of vacuuming and it follows a liner path unlike the previous models that moved in random directions.Cons:-It does not save a map - I tried to create a map 5 times.If no map is successfully saved then it has less functions than a model that is 3 years older that cost less than half the money!The functions of the robot are highly depended on the map.Even if it is right in front of the charging station it is not able to find the charger!The moping is very minimal - after mopping for 2 plus hours the cloth was hardly dirty and I know my floors were dirty when the mopping started.It is as loud as machines from 2-3 years ago. No improvement in sound.I can not control the movement with the app and there is no remote. Without a saved map I have no control over where I want it to work.It gets stuck in all the same places where my older model Deebot gets stuck.I really wanted to like this model.
