If you need more you can use a coupling and a nipple but that is probably going to add about 2" or more. If you need less than 1" or something between 1" and 2" I don't know of anything that will do the job. The shower holder is a nice looking piece but the plumbing in the wall needs to be square to the tile face and the right depth. The only adjustment provided is for rotating the holder to hold the wand straight up and down. You should have the unit available when the plumber is doing the rough-in so they can put the drop ear elbow in the right place. **Q: This looks like a nice unit.
