Fresh Galangal 8 oz.

We never had galanda before. Saw on a cooking show. It supposed to be really good for you helps with inflammation and some use it for cold symptoms. That’s why I ordered it. Tastes similar to ginger. It was a very large piece and fresh. We are enjoying it many different ways mainly sliced or grated onto sandwiches and salads. Also soup. Oh and the shipping was fast. Thank you for making our 1st purchase of Galanda a good one.

DO NOT ORDER THIS - I have purchased this twice, thinking the first time it came in bad condition was an anomaly. The second time it came, it was shriveled, brown, and moldy. Completely unusable.

This is not available in the local grocery store, so I'd buy extra and freeze it for making Tom Ka Gai

I’ve been using this to make egg fried rice several times. It has a wonderful aromatic and slightly sweet flavor. I only need a tbsp each time so by the time I run out the cost will be trivial. I’ve had it a month or so I think. It’s been lasting well in my fridge so far with only minor mold in the cut areas now and then (if it’s been a while). I cut off the moldy end before cutting more to use. The other solution I think will be to make wonderful egg fried rice more often. It’s coming out super tasty so I may make it a weekly thing.

I'm very happy with the freshness and size of the product. It is fragrant as soon as the package is opened. It's about the size of my hand, there are a few spots on the ends that have started to dry where there are negligible signs of mold that can be easily removed. The rhizome has live roots and a stem that was cut before packaging. I broke off roughly 1/3 of the rhizome and planted it. I put the rest in my refrigerator for future recipes (mainly Tom Kha Gai)
