Works well, but
I needed to extend my TV's IR sensor by a few inches as my new soundbar blocked the IR sensor. While it worked well it was quite awkward to set up. It relies on sticking a sensor on the TV's IR sensor which on my Sony TV was not easy to find as it could have been anywhere in a thin strip, I assumed correctly it was in the centre however the strip on the TV was too thin to stick the sensor in position and I had to rely on "blue tack" to hold it in place. After a lot of experiments I found that just having the emitter just placed anywhere near the sensor worked it does not need to be stuck on, mine is now about 3" away and works fine. Review upped to 4* The other problem was that the supplied power supply is not a UK one, I have no idea what counties mains socket it fits but I know it is illegal to sell in the UK unless it has a UK 3 pin plug.

Brilliant invention
Great item. Used on a sat receiver a zgemma with terrible remote control range. Had to point remote right at the box to work. Always annoyed me. Someone suggested this kind of thing so ordered and delighted. Can now point remote anywhere in the room, floor/ceiling, even the complete opposite direction and it works. Light is annoying but a blob of black paint sorted that in no time.

Don't expect it to work on a sunny day
Doesn't work properly when the sun is shining on it

It does the trick
The repeater is easy to use, it is reasonably priced and it works as it should. The cables are the right length but I found them slight too rigid. It is not a deal-breaker but it makes the cable management a little bit difficult. I recommend it with no hesitation.

Good value. Works perfectly.
Works perfectly. My soundbar blocked the IR sensor on the TV so this was exactly what was needed. Although I had a spare USB on the TV so the included power supply wasn't required, it had an non UK plug with it.

Does a great job for under £7, but some irritations to be aware of.
Bought to control our Virgin TiVO box in the cupboard under the stairs. First and foremost, this is a fully functional IR extender with a decent length of cable that works a treat, and costs under £7 delivered. It seems petty to complain about anything else really, but there are a couple of things to be aware of. The system takes power from a USB port. There is a USB mains adaptor in the box, but this has a US plug on it, so is completely useless in the UK. Thankfully, the system seems perfectly happy being powered from a spare USB port on the TV. I'm using the 1A hard drive port on my Samsung Series 8, but as the supplied adaptor is only rated at 500mA, any standard 0.5A USB port should work fine. Second thing to be aware of is the permanent green LED on the receiver unit (see pic), which I can live with, but which may get on your nerves. Third thing is that the placement of the transmitter took a bit of trial and error before the Virgin box would respond. It's not a big deal though. For under £7, it does the job.
