Herbal Kajals are either a hit or miss with most people. Considering the so many options available in the market this is not the best option on so many fronts. Unlike the colossal kajal from maybelline and the lakme iconic, this one spreads and smears within minutes of application. It is very dark and smooth and the reason I like it is because I have seen my lashes growing longer and have felt the cooling sensation of camphor in the eyes post application. This kajal is surely made of quality ingredients unlike other brands where you are unsure as to what goes into your makeup. I apply a very soft and gentle line along my lashes rather than smearing it. I do experience panda / racoon eyes if I apply this kajal generously. Would recommend this for its herbal properties and effects. Can be used for daily wear, even for contact users like me. Avoid it on special occasions as the smudging can be embarrassing otherwise.

Good value for money

I’ve stopped buying this , totally. The swivel mechanism has been faulty both the last times and so, one just can’t use it. Money wasted. However good the quality of the cosmetic might be, if the mechanism for use isn’t good enough then the customer just can’t use it, can they???

Completely herbal. My mother has been using this for atleast 15 years now and has neither ever complained nor thought of switching to some other product. And I have started using it too. The kajal is soft when applied and lasts long enough. If I apply it at night, it stays on for the day after next, leaving a light, smoky touch. I wouldn't say that it doesn't smudge because smudging is the ideal characteristic of a good kajal (since all natural kajals contain oil - ask your grandmother how she used to make it at home). It doesn't smudge much on my face, almost negligible, but it does wear out eventually bit by bit, unlike the eyeliner-like effect that other cosmetic brands promise. If you have oily skin, like my mother, it might smudge a little more but I can guarantee you that this one is extremely good for the eyes and lashes. Keeps them cool. Plus the case has a small mirror for those who are constantly on the go. The product comes sealed with hologram - so you don't have to worry about fake product. And don't let the high price discourage you - it's brand SHAHNAZ HUSAIN at its best. 2nd PURCHASE: I'm attaching the pics of what I got. From what I remember, the last time that I purchased it, the packing had a silver seal on top (I'm not talking about the kajal but its packing.) It's not there this time. So let's see...

PROS >The whole kajal on a stick form is a nice idea. Ease to apply and mess free. >The kajal is a rich intense black. Perfectly fits my bill. >The product really lasts a long time for me. The first one I bought has come through a whole 2 years and I still have some left. >It claims to promote the growth of luxurious lashes. Honestly, I did notice a difference in the length and density of lashes in my lower lash line ever since I started using it. :) >It smells like the real deal. The one our moms and grandmas have been making for years with lantern-soot method. It smells exactly like that. I love the packaging with the little mirror on the lid. Makes for good travel product. CONS >This one does smudge. I cannot deny that. But to me it’s not too much. It’s easily manageable. Especially for a daily routine I couldn’t care less. >The sharpness of kohl stick does go away after repeated use. But since I use it mainly for my water line and my lower lash line, it doesn’t really matter. >The price is quite steep, it is definitely a splurge for a simple kajal.

Good product. Usually i have itching on applying kajal. But this one is giving me no worries.. not getting a super black colour and not smudge proof. But can apply in eyes without the fear of chemicals
