Hi, sorry that this will not work on 2009 mini.

I installed this in my 2016 f55 mini cooper. all seems to work except when i plug into the factory usb cable. is there a way to make this work.

No, you’ll need to attach a usb extension cable to the back of the unit and thread it through the back and up near the gearshift; the factory usb plug is only for the original head unit. Also, the usb extension cable will not charge the phone. (This is all based on my experience in my 2016 F54; if yours turns out differently, please post how you did it.)

Hello. i just installed this in my 2016 mini cooper. it will show the carplay screen but the audio doesn’t switch it still stays in the radio

I installed it on my 2017 Clubman and you have to go back to the original screen and then select or use the phone connected via Blue Tooth to MINI so you can listen to your music from your phone. I figured that out while I was at the place that installed it and I thought it was defective but it’s not. Otherwise I really like the system
