Bluecol anti-freeze is 2yr and 5yr protection both are methanol free and the active antifreeze is ethylene glycol. So why the difference?

Hi Trevor,the difference is that the 5yr Bluecol uses organic acid Technology (OAT) wereas the 2yr does not. I bought the 2yr Bluecol for my wife's Morris Minor because I was told that the Minor's engine is not compatable with OAT. I don't know why this but I thought that in this case it was better to stay on the safe side. Regards Andrew

Can I use this for bmw 1 series

BMWs have specific coolant requirements (nitrite and phosphate free) to prevent build-up and corrosion of aluminum components, so not just any off-the-shelf antifreeze will do. Bluecol 2 year is usually used for classic car engines, I use it for an engine made in 1946. So: I would suggest that you do not use it for a BMW.

Is this okay to use in a 1984 jaguar XJ6

I am using it in a 1961 Jaguar Mk2, also with the same XK engine. This Bluecol antifreeze should be a lot safer and effective than the modern variants.
