I really wanted something that wasn't plastic or silicone for my toddlers, but could afford all stainless steel, and since we eat all our meals together, I wanted something off-white that sort of looked like my regular plates. They wash well, aren't stained after multiple months of use, and can be microwaved and put in the dishwasher. They do get scratched with knives but I won't feel awful replacing them after a year with a new set because again, not plastic.
