## Description

Product description Treat yourself to powerful, pristine, totally engrossing home theater with the Denon AVR-3805. This receiver delivers 120 high-current watts to as many as seven home theater speakers, enveloping you in involving, lifelike sound. In addition to Dolby Digital EX and DTS-ES surround decoding, this receiver's brainy 32-bit SHARC processor offers Dolby Pro Logic IIx, which can turn any stereo or surround source into compelling 7.1-channel surround! Denon has packed this receiver with an astonishing array of audiophile features, but they've also gone out of their way to make your home theater setup as easy as possible. The '3805's Auto Setup and Room EQ Adjust feature takes the hassle out of speaker configuration. Just plug in Denon's DMS-305 microphone (not included) and place it in your favorite listening seat. The '3805 then uses a series of test tones to balance speaker levels and fine-tune the delay and EQ settings for each speaker. The result is optimized system performance for your specific home theater room! Once you've got your home theater ready to go, you'll be astounded by the sound of your movies and music. The '3805 boasts sixteen Burr-Brown 192kHz/24-bit DACs — that's two DACs per channel, even for 7.1 audio! This guarantees phenomenal precision from all your digital sources. This is also the first receiver apart from Denon's flagship AVR-5803A model to offer a Denon Link input. With compatible components (like Denon's DVD-5900), you'll be able to send both DVD-Audio signals to this receiver digitally, for musical reproduction of incredible presence and purity. Another high-end bonus is Denon's ALPHA 24 Processing Plus, which uses sophisticated upsampling to produce analog smoothness from stereo digital audio sources. For the cleanest possible sound for your stereo music, Pure Direct mode shuts off the power to the video circuitry and the front-panel display. With analog sources, Pure Direct mode also shuts off all digital circuitry. .com Denon's ultimate-performance 7.1-channel AVR-3805 surround receiver is a high-quality, high-value receiver that's loaded with sound-enhancing and image-preserving features, including the finest digital-to-analog and analog-to-digital converters. The receiver provides 7 channels of amplification (120 watts per channel, 8 ohms, 20 to 20,000 Hz, with less than 0.05 percent THD) to drive all the main loudspeakers in a 7.1 home theater surround system. Ensuring high power and stability, the component employs a huge power transformer and an oversized block capacitor. Of course, you get full compatibility with all the latest advanced audio formats, including 7.1-channel surround decoding of, among other formats, Dolby Digital Surround EX, DTS, DTS 96/24 5.1 for DVD-Video, DTS ES Discrete 6/1, DTS ES Matrix 6.1, DTS Neo: 6 Cinema & Music modes, and Dolby Pro Logic II/IIx (for cinema, music and games). Dolby Pro Logic IIx is the first technology to offer a choice of processing traditional stereo music and movie content into either 6.1- or 7.1-channel signals. The AVR-3805 marks the debut of a significant Denon feature: Auto Set-Up calibration and Room EQ, making it easier to tailor the performance of the receiver for your specific home theater or music-listening environment. The AVR-3805 analyzes and calibrates 6 critically important speaker settings: connection, phase, size, channel level, time delay, and frequency response. A feature called Room EQ corrects frequency response with an 8-band parametric equalizer and adjusts to the optimum soundfield, compensating for speaker and room capability issues. Auto Set-Up calibration and Room EQ requires the use of an optional microphone, either Denon's own DMS-305 or another compatible mic. You can disable both the EQ and Auto Set-Up features if you prefer calibrating the receiver in the traditional manner. The AVR-3805 owes a big part of its great sound quality to its premium digital-audio technologies, such as Analog Devices SHARC 32-bit floating-point DSP processing and Denon's proprietary advanced DDSC-D (Dynamic Discrete Surround Decoder-Digital) circuitry. The AVR-3805 features 3 assignable sets of component-video inputs and one set of monitor inputs (all with high-definition-compatible 100 MHz bandwidth). Simplifying video connectivity and switching among its 7 (each) composite- and S-video inputs, the AVR-3805 includes video up-conversion that converts composite- and/or S-video sources to component-video without compromising video quality, greatly simplifying your connections between the receiver and your television. The receiver offers 10 audio inputs plus a tuner with 56 presets, including a phono input for your turntable. Denon's "power amp assigned" function provides a fully-powered, discrete 2-channel second zone, and the receiver lets you send a fixed-level audio output to a third zone, as well. Like the company's flagship AVR-5803 receiver, the AVR-3805 also features the latest Denon Link 3, which allows the receiver to receive high-resolution, multichannel digital audio data directly from the Denon DVD-5900 and DVD-9000 DVD players (and future Denon products) for the ultimate level of sonic performance. Denon Link 3 is compatible with all previously released Denon Link products, but is now ready to accept digital SACD data from future Denon source units, if and when formal approval is granted. The AVR-3805 also has an RS-232 serial port for external controllers. Denon's sleekly contoured programmable EL (Electro-Luminescence) remote control lets you command even the most sophisticated home entertainment systems from a single intuitive device. What's in the Box Receiver, remote control, remote batteries, an AM loop antenna, an indoor FM antenna, an AC power cord, a warranty card, a service-center list, and a user's manual.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Denon Avr-3805
*by S***S on December 17, 2013*

I love this receiver even though it's a little out dated but for the price, it was an excellent choice

### ⭐⭐⭐ Why would Amazon sell discontinued products?
*by G***G on June 9, 2006*

I bought this receiver a couple of months ago. I am generally satisfied with the quality albeit, I was shocked to know that this is a discontinued product! This means, there is virtually no chance of Denon offering any updates/patches on this product.I hold Amazon is high esteem but I am very surprised to find it discontinued products on the catalogue. For couple of hundrer dollars, I could have bought something is HDMI switching right on this website.

### ⭐ My last Denon receiver
*by V***P on May 5, 2019*

Owner manual is terrible and not user friendly. The remote sucks. Mine broke after 3 years and Denon did not sale replacement remote. Many functions can only be controlled from the remote only and does not works with 3rd party remote. To switch back and forth from 7.1 to zone 2/3, you need to plug and unplug the speaker cables from the back of the receiver, then goes through the complicated setting to assign power amp and so on. If your remote broke, you can not control the volume on Zone 2/3. Volume control on the receiver only works for the main zone.In my previous 5.1 Kenwood, I could switch back and forth from 5.1 to 3.1+Zone 2 with a push of a button.
